Always love visiting W8 Kitchen. Myself and my wife like trying acclaimed restaurants for the odd treat but love returning to W8 Kitchen. So consistent, we know we are going to enjoy the food. We come at lunch times and have the set menu. Like the focus on simplicity and good trusted flavours done well. Can't ask for more. The sourdough bread as well is a great way to start the meal. We'll be back again soon.

We liked the Food, that was of a high Level. The service was was not impressive. The waiter semt unsecure and uninterested. She did not present the disches and lacked attention.

Good but not spectacular food. The set lunch was good value as was the house wine. Friendly staff. We had to ask for our wine as it has not appeared at the time our to food arrived.
A number of tables (including ours) was above/close to some heavy duty kitchen plant/ A/C units which whilst not visible which resulted in an insessant vibration akin to being on an ocean liner or subteraniean rumblings of a distant tube train and was not conducive to dining. The waitress agreed with our concerns but pleaded ignorance and we were quietly moved to another table. I cannot believe no one else had raised this before.

I am struggling to see why this restaurant has been given a Michelin star. I say this as I am regularly going to this standard if not better. The food I would say is more like a 2 knife and fork / double AA rosette. No tasting menu even though their website says it does one. When asked the waitress for one she told me they only have this menu ( the a la carte one). The main reason I came to this restaurant was for the tasting menu.
They also need to work on their service level or train their staff better as intially our waitress standard / attention to detail was poor. She didn’t once ask for any food allergies, explain the dishes when they arrived, keeping an eye on levels of wine, which I wouldn’t of minded if the bottle was in reaching distance, however it was at a distance away from the table. I had to get up out of my seat numerous times. They also missed on increasing their takings, as I asked to order dessert wine, but again no service in taking an order and because of this I didn’t even ask for a coffee.
As for value then I am marking it down due to you can find other restaurants of star level which the food is far better and costs the same.
