We surprised my friend with an Afternoon Tea as she is having a baby soon. We were greeted well and even though early, we could have the table. Staff were attentive and helpful. The sandwiches and cakes were delicious and the setting is gorgeous. Eclectic decor with tones of Manchester displayed which we loved.

Lovely afternoon tea, sandwich fillings were different fillings than the norm and very tasty. Unfortunately the whole experience was let down by the service. We were half way through our eats and no one had asked us if we would like tea or coffee - I had to ask! No one then came to ask if we would like a fill up. We were treating a friend for her 50th birthday and I had arranged prior to our visit that a plate with 'happy birthday ' and a candle be delivered to our table - again I had to ask and it was delivered while I was in the ladies! Surely as there was only 3 of us the staff could have made sure we were all seated?! For what we were paying service was poor.

As it was a nice day we dined on the rooftop terrace. The afternoon tea was delicious. A great mix and plenty of tea.

Nice restaurant and staff were very friendly. We enjoyed our meal but the latest menu didn't leave many options to our particular taste.

Went to the Tavern for Afternoon Tea for my Mum's Birthday. The dining area was beautiful and so very different but we loved it.
The Staff were second to none, we were greeted by fabulous staff and had such a lovely time...the food was deliccioouuus and so very interesting from the normal afternoon tea- the only thing I would do is to come later on ie 1pm but this isn't meant to be detrimental it's just a passing comment. I am definitely coming back !!!!

I was extremely disappointed in the poor level of service we received. We were a party of 3 & there were 2 other tables in use consisting each of 2 people, the amount of staff on duty was at a level more than enough to cope, I counted 5 staff members, which for afternoon tea should be more than ample to cope.
We were left sometime to receive our champagne and felt that once we were seated the staff really paid no attention to us whatsoever. We were left to ask for more tea which was ironic as when we were first seated it was explained to us that we could have unlimited tea which surely goes without saying with Afternoon Tea - also surely one would expect a member of staff to ask us are we ready to have more tea. We had to wait a considerable amount of time to have our tea replenished as we had trouble getting the staff's attention. This resulted in us only asking once to have our tea replenished due to the amount of time waiting to get attention.
Even when we were paying the bill the guy taking payment didn't ask how was our experience, did we enjoy it. There was no interaction from any staff apart from seating us.
I think the staff really were not interested in giving any level of service let alone a good level of service. Not at all what I expected after having eaten in the restaurant back in November last year. Such a shame as you have a great product in lovely surroundings which is spoilt by your staff being indifferent to guests.

Service was awful. We were sat waiting for about 20 mins before they took our initial order and then we had to keep waiting to get other items, staff totally disinterested in providing a good level of service. The staff were not proactive at all. Food was ok not great
