We loved it , unfortunately didn't realise there was a private party on too, walked in there on way back from the ladies , after which the ladies closed the door , but made it very difficult for the waiters to get in and out , please send the waiters my apology

Booking process is easy. Venue is stunning. Food is lovely - but I would recommend highlighting on the website that the menu provided online is not the menu which is served on the day. The service however.... very slow. Considering afternoon tea only requires few visits to the table. We ordered tea when we first sat down. After the food arrived, we didn’t see the server at the table again. Almost an hour in and I had to get up twice, once to go and find someone to order the tea, then a second time 20minutes later to go and remind them that I had ordered it. Finally it arrived. It’s the simple things such as an attentive team which bring people back. This visit was a disappointment.

My friend and I had afternoon tea, the setting was just lovely, fabulous selection of teas and an equally fabulous selection of savory and sweet treats. Staff were on hand for tea top-ups without being intrusive. 2 hour slot which was great. Although all tables were occupied, the setting didn't feel cramped at all.

My friend and I had booked an afternoon tea at the Townhouse. It was very intimate and cosy setting. The afternoon tea was a delight.

I took my Mum for a lovely Afternoon Tea. I don't have a particularly sweet tooth, so I opted for the Gentleman's Afternoon Tea, which included things like a mini-burger, flan, fish and chips etc and a cheeseboard. The tea menu was extensive: I was a little disappointed at first that they were all tea bags (I'd ordered a Masala Chai so I was surprised it was a tea bag) but actually, I really enjoyed it so didn't mind in the end. The venue is very relaxing: lovely cosy decor, relaxing music, low lighting. My one suggested improvement would be for the kitchen to remove the cheeseboard from the fridge when we arrived so that it wasn't cold from the fridge when you come to eat it because cheese shouldn't be 'fridge cold'.

Afternoon tea was delicious. It was very busy and we had to wait and ask for it to be served but overall excellent. Nice to be offered a cocktail as an alternative to the champagne.
