Restaurant description

Arguably the most exciting restaurant launch in The Savoy's illustrious 125-year history, Kaspar's offers dazzling views of the River Thames and London landmarks. This informal yet luxurious dining experience evokes elegant 1920s style, where guests can indulge in sublime seafood specialities whilst envisaging the hotel’s rich and glamorous heritage.

Headed by a range of fresh and smoked fish and delicious fresh seafood, the Kaspar’s menu sees the finest ingredients sourced from across the British Isles, like Dover sole with brown butter caper sauce, Isle of Skye lobster, or native Loch Ryan oysters. Dishes from the land include venison shepherd’s pie with cranberries, or grilled Salt Marsh lamb cutlets.

Luxury classic cocktails and sensitively-sourced wines complement the simple menu at this Savoy restaurant, and a hearty breakfast menu is served from early morning until lunch. Enjoy morning indulgence of grilled kippers, or lobster and prawn frittata at Kaspar’s in London.

Glittering mirrors, polished brass fittings and a chequerboard marble floor evoke the glamour of the 1920s. Kaspar’s on the Strand is a 5-minute walk from Charing Cross stations.

Dishes displayed on a la carte menus are representative of the type of food available at the restaurant.

On 3rd July, three of us reserved a table at Kasparsat 10.30 as a shared celebration of our birthdays. Unfortunately, our celebratory breakfast was disrupted by the repeated sounding of the fire alarm.. However, we much appreciated the efforts of the staff to keep us informed; and were DEEPLY grateful that we weren't finally charged for our meal. Many thanks!

Service very good, food ok. Not many people there. Overall a pleasant experience, but not a patch on other restaurants.

The food and service at Kaspars was excellent. However there was a suggestion to have a drink in the bar before dinner, booking was unavailable and when we arrived there was no room. The hostess was unhelpful suggesting we could stand with my 71 year old husband. My daughter however consulted the concierge who was more than helpful and found us a lovely table in Simpson’s bar, he even took us there personally, very impressed. If you are going to make this suggestion it might be prudent to offer booking for diners who wish to use the bar to avoid disappointment.

We love this place because the staff are always friendly but highly professional. If you are nice to people, they usually go the extra mile. Cocktails were great, particularly the one chosen by our waiter in the American Bar. The food in Kaspar's was absolutely perfect for me, not large portions but the taste is perfect. Our waiter in Kaspar's was Benito and he was fantastic. Exactly the correct balance between friendly and professional, he'll go far I'm sure.

It is always a pleasure to eat at Kaspar's. The venue is very nice, service is exceptional and the menu is wide and inviting. As we were eating in the evening as well as at lunch time we wanted a light lunch. We both chose the lobster linguine, which was delicious, with an incredibly strong and delicious lobster taste. We were, however, unable to resist the new dessert menu and chose the peanut and salted caramel gianduja, which was delicious, and the lemon and sesame meringue tart. The lemon part of this dessert was delicious, but the pastry case was very hard. We didn't have any alcoholic drinks, so the £100 cost of the meal for two was expensive. We could, of course, have chosen the cheaper set menu, but preferred to go a la carte.

Attentive and knowledgeable service without being intrusive. Excellent new English sparking wine . Priced too close to the champagne also on offer .
