Arguably the most exciting restaurant launch in The Savoy's illustrious 125-year history, Kaspar's offers dazzling views of the River Thames and London landmarks. This informal yet luxurious dining experience evokes elegant 1920s style, where guests can indulge in sublime seafood specialities whilst envisaging the hotel’s rich and glamorous heritage.

Headed by a range of fresh and smoked fish and delicious fresh seafood, the Kaspar’s menu sees the finest ingredients sourced from across the British Isles, like Dover sole with brown butter caper sauce, Isle of Skye lobster, or native Loch Ryan oysters. Dishes from the land include venison shepherd’s pie with cranberries, or grilled Salt Marsh lamb cutlets.

Luxury classic cocktails and sensitively-sourced wines complement the simple menu at this Savoy restaurant, and a hearty breakfast menu is served from early morning until lunch. Enjoy morning indulgence of grilled kippers, or lobster and prawn frittata at Kaspar’s in London.

Glittering mirrors, polished brass fittings and a chequerboard marble floor evoke the glamour of the 1920s. Kaspar’s on the Strand is a 5-minute walk from Charing Cross stations.

Before arriving I phoned the restaurant to let them know i was running a bit late and they moved my reservation up 15 minutes. I thought that was very nice of them and appreciated. The restaurant is lovely, food and service were good, I just didn't appreciate being charged for drinks I did not have. When I told the waiter he immediately apologised and corrected my bill, but in my opinion this should not have happened at all in a restaurant like this. Also there were too many waiters serving. One or two would have been enough, but we had about 4. Overall I had a nice time but it will be a while before going back there.

The Savoy, and Kaspars (in particular) is always good. Service is generally excellent and we were able to bring our booking forward an hour, which was very much appreciated. Our waitress was superbly attentive. However the sommelier was utterly incompetent; first providing an out of date wine list, then delivering a bottle we hadn’t ordered, before informing us our second choice (from the current list) was out of stock, his alternative recommendation was almost twice the price of our chosen wine and the only advice he could provide about further choices was, “it is good”!
Would I let the drinks confusion put me off Kaspars? No, but I would think twice about anything other than a soft drink in the restaurant.

Lovely atmosphere. Expensive but it is The Savoy!

Smoked and cured fish here is excellent. Grills are good, ambience is good too. However, we waited far too long for a starter which was after all cold fish put on a board so required minimal preparation and my steak was not cooked as I ordered it and had to be sent back. These things should not happen in a restaurant of this price and quality.

An attractive restaurant - a pity one had to walk through the more formal dining area to access it. Did not like the large oval table with raised seating which rather overshadowed our table and would have been awkward to sit next to if it had been occupied. Food was excellent - interesting flavours and attractively presented. The service was friendly and efficient. However, was it necessary to move furniture through the restaurant, past our table in the middle of the meal? Not an action to promote 'fine dining'!

not quite 5 star experience hoped for
seated by kitchen door when plenty of tables available elsewhere
bread not very tasty....brought more and twice as much as only 2 small pieces originally?
several waiter/waitresses asked for drinks order
scallops not very tender and varied in size mainly small
Dover Sole very dense and fleshy having been grilled on lava rock and had strong after taste
eton mess had no real taste and tiniest bit of meringue
left for ages and maitre passed us by twice although interacting with other decided to leave for american bar ....when bill arrived at barwe had been charged for 3 starters .....American bar fabulous with excellent pianist/singer in situ but although not overly busy hard to catch eye of waiters.
Shame as The Savoy is a divine hotel but lacked the finesse and care to all clientele
