The Kaschmir introduces its guests to the culinary extravagance of the Great Moguls. Kashmiri cooking goes back to the same roots as North Indian cuisine. The Mongols brought this style of cooking with them from Central Asia, but despite having lots of similarities with the cooking methods of its neighbour, Kashmiri cooking has its own very individual character. All of the herbs and spices used aren't just added for their taste and smell, but are necessary for the digestion and their nutritional value. Good and wholesome food are very much intertwined in Indian cooking. The long-grained basmati rice served with the dishes comes from the Himalaya area. It is planted in natural water from the Himalayas and has a very characteristic smell and flavour. The Restaurant Kaschmir is anxious for its guests to leave the restaurant as friends.
