The service was very good, it was a bit of a strange experience for us, although we have been to some top restaurants around the world, we didn't feel relaxed, im not sure what it was, the menu was ok, the food was average, the staff were good.

What can I say. Lovely food, great service from friendly staff, relaxed, nothing stuffy about this place, lovely surrounds. Tamworth pork was meltingly tender, butter to die for lovely and salty, like the Welsh butter I know, the Michelin star rice pudding didn’t disappoint. As I am unable to eat fish I had no choice of first and second course but that is not their fault. It is something I will ask about at my next booking. We have been there before and we will go again. Offered drinks made locally too, beer, mineral waters, sparkling wine.

Been here twice now and this time was even better than the first, which I did not think was even possible. Can not fault a single thing from the service to the food. Recommend massively. Well worth the money paid.

Superb food and excellent service. The smoked eel starter with the sides of eel was an absolute stand-out. Bread delightful, crisp, warm and delicious. My guests loved the whole experience.

We had a superb, innovative and beautifully cooked meal accompanied by delicious wines. The service was splendid and Harry, the sommelier, was extremely knowledgable and communicative. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience there.

We had a lovely meal at John's House. The truffle pudding with the smoked yolk was one of the most memorable courses we have tasted for some time while the fallow dear was also excellent. The staff were ever so friendly and created a relaxed atmosphere in this intimate setting.
