We were celebrating my sons graduation Andy it was our first visit to Johns. We had drinks in a snuggly well furnished lounge. We ordered the locally produced sparkling wine which went down well (3 bottles) The menu was limited but absolute first class, accompanied by beautiful home backed bread. Staff were pleasant and very efficient. Unfortunately I can’t see myself being in the area again but if I am I will definitely be re visiting. Overall I’d give Johns restaurant 10/10.

We purchased a gift voucher for my in laws for their Christmas present because we had a fantastic family meal at Johns House previously.
They were really disappointed in their meal and how their dissatisfaction was dealt with by the waiting staff after they made them aware.
We were really shocked to hear this, after having such an excellent experience last time and can’t believe that the staff didn’t try to resolve the issues or compensate my in laws in any way.
Really frustrating considering how much the meal cost. Such a shame!

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant quite small but this made the experience more intimate. We had the set lunch which offered a choice of two courses for starters, mains and dessert. Although there’re was no vegetarian option I was asked by the restaurant, a few days earlier, if we had ant dietary requirements so I am sure that they would have provided a vegetarian/vegan alternative. The food was delicious and very well presented, each dish being an artwork in itself. For my taste my main course was a little over salted for my liking but nevertheless I really enjoyed it. The homemade bread was delicious.
Extensive wine list with local gin and sparkling English wine on the menu.

The food was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the taster menu, however I would like to warn future diners to use mosquito repellent especially if the weather is warm. My wife has six large angry bites following our visit. Their were an enormous amount of bugs in the upstairs dining area

The food was exceptional & good service. The only let down was they charged me the rare wines & champagne pairing when only had standard. Only realised after we got home. But I would be happy to go again & would gladly recommend to all
