Joe Daflo's is a spacious and airy mezzanine restaurant set within a converted church just opposite the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton. The hearty menu wears its international influences on its sleeve with dishes from Greece, France and Italy amongst others, while the wall of wine behind the ground floor bar will leave lovers of the grape spoilt for choice. Desserts can be delayed until after the show for playgoers who are pushed for time.

We dined before the evening performance of 'We will Rock You'. Both of us had had a busy day and rushed to Southampton from Fareham for the show. This was a real pleasure - time to chill and relax before enjoying a wonderful show. The waiter was friendly and attentive - food excellent.

dined at 1800 to 1915 meal arrived on time well presented and tasty served spritzers with lemonade instead of soda ,but when told changed it immediately likewise with raspberry brule' which should have been baileys brule'. but the food was very good and the service efficient especially when things were being corrected.

My friend & I booked for a pre-theatre meal. The restaurant was not busy. The vegetarian pasta meal which we were given was awful. To be fair it was not on the menu but we were assured the Chef could "knoock something together" for us. Also the glasses of wine were an extortionate price & when we queried it we were told the "large" glass of wine was considered too expensive to be put on the menu. We had not been given a choice nor told the price. The waiter did his best & gave us free dessert but to be honest we should have made a fuss and refused to pay for the meal. The experience has put me off eating here again.

We arrived 2 hours before the show started, the service was quick and efficient, but also gave us time between each part of the meal to relax and enjoy just being there.

This was obviously an early pre theatre dinner. Food was fab, always is. Great atmosphere, huge variety of ages, really nice comfy feel. Liked the dinner options, I had the little fishcakes and the goats cheese tagine, both excellent. Staff absolutely delightful but due to the number of customers service was a bit slow. We had to rush to get to the theatre in the end, we made it but it was a bit tight. WE arrived 17.45 and managed two courses leaving at seven and we ordered quite promptly. Staff were truly delightful
