I took my friend for her birthday. I bought a two course deal on Deal Zippy. We shared starter and pudding and had a main each. The main course of crab spaghetti was delicious. A subtle hint of chilli but not too much. The tiramisu was in a glass so not the easiest to share but very tasty. The starter was the disappointing course - bruchetta was cold even though it had been toasted and the tomatoes roasted and mozarella melted! The service was very good and I would certainly go back.

Although over priced the food was delicious. The main problem was that there was a lot on the menu that they did not have so we ended up having to change our minds on what we wanted to eat and drink because of lack of food. We ended up not even having desert due to lack of options. We will certainly not be going back.

Slow service, waiter barely spoke English and we had to repeat our order, drinks slow to arrive and one member of the party had a cold veggie burger which was sent back but still lukewarm on return!!!

Booked a table for 6 at 13:30 on Saturday. Drink order arrived 14:10 less mine. Ordered food, 3 starters and 6 mains. Extra drink finally arrived a full 50 mins after ordering it. Yet another waitress arrived to say food order would be late. Ordered a glass of wine to accompany food. Food finally arrived around 14:30 less glass of wine. Glass of wine arrived as finishing lunch! Food was enjoyed by us all.
Manager (?) arrived to apologise at surprise surprise payment time! Let us off last round of drinks which coincidentally would have been same as service charge which had already been automatically added without being mentioned!
Jamie get off Southend Pier with your mates and check out where your name is being used.
Never going again, was supposed to be a special lunch with my family after shopping

The experience was dreadful. We went with a buyagift voucher for £45 and the restaurant staff drew over a menu in biro pen telling us what we could and couldn't have as they couldn't find the menu for the voucher.
They sat us in some hard metal chairs squeezed between a few other couples in a room full of kids at 9pm on a Friday night.
The food tasted ok if it was out of a packet on a tesco store shelf - didn't taste fresh - just partially cooked on site and factory prepped before hand, i would guess.
They messed our drinks up and when they got it right they left half of the order at the bar. just a shambles.
We just felt embarrassed... we expected something much better with the name.
We were told that it was once a respectable restaurant, thats why we picked it. but now it's like the back end of frankie and bennies. ok for mates who want to grab some quick bites in town, but not exactly a dating or pleasant dining destination.

Went with a friend . Had the lunch menu . She had the same thing she always has cause she loves it so much . The bruschetta and then the steak . My first visit to s Jamie's . Had the oxtail tagliatelle ( delicious ) and the panacotta which again was scrummy . Will be back !
