Table we were sat at was not the best shaky leg, seat was dirty. Ordered squid rings for our starter but had to send them back as only tiny bits of squid and clumps of batter not rings. Second starter was ok but my husbands bruchetta was burnt. On a plus side mains and dessert was lovely, waitress was very nice and accommodating

First time dining here with high expectations and really looking forward to the Christmas menu with an Italian twist. Starter of Black truffle tagliatelle sent back ; it arrived at the table luke-warm, congealed, dry and tasteless but hat’s off to the manageress who was straight over to our table to ask why both starters had been returned to the kitchen and had them replaced - what came was better in that it was hot and moist but still tasted of nothing! Mains were absolutely delicious and our Brownie dessert with White Chocolate Ice-cream and salted caramel popcorn we loved. Ten out of ten to the mixologist who made the Christmas Bauble cocktail. Apart from the “starter” debacle ( please take this dish off the menu, it’s awful) we really enjoyed the experience. Staff were courteous, friendly and sorted out the problem with good grace.

Food was lovely and reasonably priced on the star deal! The pasta dish maybe could have been slightly larger but was still filling considering we both had 3 courses!

The food here is great - no question. This time round (and I have eaten in Jamie's at different locations on many occasions) I had the most delicious, succulent burger, with a side of "posh" fries. I also had the "homemade" lemonade - more of which later. First, I would like to note that on every single occasion I have eaten at a Jamie's restaurant, I have had cause to send something back. This time it was the fries, and the burger (not hot enough). The server was very very apologetic, and very very helpful. They also knocked a bit of the bill for the inconvenience - all of which left me satisfied, but I wish it hadn't happened in the first place! My dining partner was finished eating his super-hot lasagne (his fries had two go back too) before I had really started. And of course, his hot fries then came as a separate course! The homemade lemonade, at £3.50 for a glass, tasted like lemon squash. So not worth the bother. The fries. They were served with "truffle and parmesan". The "truffle" - clearly from a jar and not fresh - was little, limp slices, and completely tasteless. The parmesan shavings sat on top of the fries in a little pile. I am a complete truffle addict and have eaten truckloads of truffle fries. Jamies, let me tell you - toss the fries in a little decent quality truffle oil; sprinkle on the parmesan, and toss again. Bingo! All that aside, the price is ok; the servers are friendly and accommodating; the food , when it's right, is good;the ambience is upbeat - I will keep coming back and hope one day they will get it completely right!
