Brought to you by one of the UK’s best-loved celebrity chefs, James Martin’s eponymous restaurant is found within the glitzy Manchester235 Casino - showcasing the best in modern British seasonal cooking.
The seasonally-changing menu by James Martin is bursting with produce sourced from tried-and-tested butchers, fishmongers, game dealers, farmers and cheesemakers. Signature flavours might include Thai crab risotto, or coffee-crusted venison loin. Imaginative twists for dessert include white chocolate & whisky croissant pudding, or apple crumble soufflé. Traditional Sunday roasts with all the trimmings are also a firm favourite.
Perfectly matched to the menu, the wine list at James Martin in Manchester features old and New World bins, and experimental mixes are served at the adjoining Vega Lounge cocktail bar.
This classic British restaurant is set on its own mezzanine level, with edgy Great-Northern-warehouse styling including vintage fabrics and artwork, polished girders and exposed brickwork. Find restaurant James Martin just 3 minutes’ walk from Deansgate Train Station. Please note, guests must be aged 18 or over.

We had the 5-course taster menu with matched wines. Generous portions of high-end, delicious food matched with superb wines. The service is extremely friendly and the decor and atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely; just blinker your eyes as you walk through the casino to get there if you're sensitive to 'ambience' at arrival ;) . The price is absolutely brilliant too. Really feels like an affordable yet indulgent sumptuous treat and I'll definitely be returning to take advantage of their special offers again

Fourth time visit and very disappointed 45 minutes wait for a pre booked table . No pianist this time. 2 courses cold and one I had to ask for the accompanying wine

The odd location (within a casino, up two escalators and across the gaming floors and bar) gives a poor first impression on arrival, but this restaurant is a hidden gem. Superb and truly refined food, a decent wine list and attentive and prompt service. The best meal that I’ve had in Manchester to date.

Poor No one to greet you on arrival for 10 mins. Not informed bread brought was chargeable till ee saw on bill. After that all was ok. Had cod with cassoule and it was warm not hot. Staff are usually very attentive but not yesterday. We usually come a couple of times a year and really look forward to it but not yesterday. Will think about coming for our next visit

Great setting, lovely attentive staff, good food- all food we tasted on the festive menu was tasty and interesting.... ambience a bit flat as it was so quiet on a Monday night but can imagine it to be very busy at weekends
