Excellent. Service was superb although we were the only ones in the spacious restaurant. The menu was varied and mouth watering and making choices was difficult. More than enough to eat and beautifully cooked. Overall a memorable experience which we hope to repeat.

Brought to you by one of the UK’s best-loved celebrity chefs and named in The Sunday Times Top 100 Restaurants 2015, James Martin’s eponymously-named restaurant is found within Manchester’s glitzy 235 Casino. An on-site ‘meat market’ sees guests step inside a cavernous walk-in meat fridge, which showcases cuts from the menu.

The seasonally-changing menu by James Martin is bursting with produce sourced from tried-and-tested butchers, fishmongers, game dealers, farmers and cheesemakers. Signature flavours might include Thai crab risotto, or coffee-crusted venison loin. Imaginative twists for dessert include white chocolate & whisky croissant pudding, or apple crumble soufflé. Traditional Sunday roasts with all the trimmings are also a firm favourite.

Perfectly matched to the menu, the wine list at James Martin in Manchester features old and New World bins, and experimental mixes are served at the adjoining Vega Lounge cocktail bar.

This classic British restaurant is set on its own mezzanine level, with edgy Great-Northern-warehouse styling including vintage fabrics and artwork, polished girders and exposed brickwork. Find restaurant James Martin just 3 minutes’ walk from Deansgate Train Station. Please note, guests must be aged 18 or over.

This is one of my favourite places to eat. Lovely food and friendly staff.
The afternoon tea was lovely and the staff were as helpful and courteous as always.

We had Afternoon tea, which was lovely, and the staff were very attentive, but apart from 2 other tables the restaurant was empty and lacked atmosphere.

Overall a great place to eat. Food was lovely. Decor could do with a little more modernisation it wasn't to my taste

Thought I had booked the taster menu only to be told they don't do it on a Saturday...so a la carte it was.
Wife ordered the trout starter as it said it came with jersey royals...royal I should stipulate and one of the smallest jersey I had ever seen..I had the mushroom and artichoke tart which was ok..wife decided on lamb rump...to which the reply was they didn't have any left so lamb chops were the alternative...out came 2 of the fattiest chops I've ever seen...hardly any meat and pink to the point of nearly raw.
I ordered the onion risotto it had all the look and appeal of chocolate ready break and stodgy as hell..only thing you could taste was the salty cheese shaved on top.
Have been a fan of James Martin for a long time but this was £70 worth of awful food masquerading as fine dining...truly horrible dinner that spoilt the whole weekend as we had been looking forward to this for a long time

Nice decor. Plenty of space between tables and a good sized table for our party of 5. I had the Thai crab risotto, which was absolutely divine. The steak for main course was average at best, supermarket quality, so very disappointing. The additional vegetables of broccoli and cabbage were delicious. We did not have desserts. Petit fours were amazing. With a new beef supplier I would go again
