Giving a bold, modern makeover to Indian street food dishes, Jamavar offers creative fine dining in Mayfair. Filled with elegant old-colonial style, this is a glossy venue to sample unique dishes alongside botanical-themed cocktails mixed up at the chic bar.

A wealth of bold pan-Indian flavours are showcased on the Jamavar menu, including dishes from the Royal kitchens of Northern India. Tapas-style small plates inspired by street food markets include paneer-stuffed sweet peppers with chopped purple potato and Indian mustard, while tandoori quail is cooked in a traditional clay oven. There are fresh seafood treats like lobster nerulli, and aromatic sides of stir-fried okra.

Indian single malt whisky is served at Jamavar in Mayfair, with botanical signature cocktails using saffron-infused gin and quirky additions like absinthe spray. Creative desserts like cinnamon kulfi with caramelised peanuts offer the perfect end to a meal.

Celebrated by many as one of the best Indian restaurants in London, Jamavar is a 7-minute walk from Bond Street Tube Station.

I absolutely loved the food at Jamavar. My favourite dish was the tulsi chicken tikka- the chicken was so tender and flavourful. I also loved the old delhi butter chicken! Also, the pistachio cake was amazing.

This was my second time in this restaurant. The experience the first time was completely different. This time though I was disappointed. We were 4 people for dinner. Tasty menu and nice environment, but the service was not to the standards of a Michelin Star restaurant. We didn’t have a relaxed dinner, as it felt they were trying to serve everything quickly in order to finish our dinner within 2 hours. At some point there were so many items on the table and not enough space that a glass of wine was accidentally spilt on my clothes. They even brought us the bill without asking it, in order to leave the table as soon as possible.
I understand there is a strict 2 hour policy, but I have to admit it was the most stressed dinner I had in my life and didn’t enjoy it at all.

The early bird set menu was very good value - I especially recommend the delicious stone bass tikka with avocado chutney.

Desserts and cocktails weren't the same standard as some of the other courses but I'm sure there are other nice dishes on the a la carte.
