Immortalised in Daphne du Maurier’s novel, and the Alfred Hitchcock film and BBC drama of the same name, The Jamaica Inn Bolventor is in the middle of wild and beautiful Bodmin Moor half-way between Launceston and Bodmin. Offering refuge to travellers and smugglers alike for nearly 300 years. The hearty, traditional fare makes the most of fresh, local produce from Devon and Cornwall.
The Pedlars restaurant at Jamaica Inn provides wholesome, homemade mainly English food with specials every evening. Tuck into breakfast, light bites, servery lunches, cream teas and dinner, or the Sunday roast served all year round.
Local real ales and ciders can be enjoyed in front of the fire, or in the large beer garden in the summer months. Exposed stone walls and original wooden beams help the Jamaica Inn pub retain its timeless rustic charm.
On the edge of Bodmin Moor, Jamaica Inn Cornwall sits between Launceston and Bodmin. Both towns are a 15-minute drive away.

Lovely pub, great service. I had the Cajun chicken burger and chips. I have to say they were the nicest home cooked chips I've tasted. Delicious.
The service was excellent too with friendly staff happy to help. -

The restaurant was extremely busy and although we booked for 2.30pm, after deciding we were all going to have the carvery, which was due to finish at 3pm, it was 3.15 and we were still in the queue. After initially being told that the carvery had finished serving we were allowed (after I complained) to choose this option. However, the choice of meat had changed from beef and turkey to pork and chicken! The food was nicely cooked and there were good vegetable choices so we were happy in the end.

Convenient meeting point just off A30 if you are willing to accept the typically commercial experience. Helpful and friendly staff but rather like a mass market self service in an olde worldly extended building!

Over commercialised! Little to no customer service skill shown! In a nutshell The Jamaica Inn is not in my opinion a destination restaurant, it is little more than a cafe with a smuggling museum and gift shop with highly inflated prices! Will not be going back!!!!!

It was a busy night as they had an event going on and the food was a bit slow coming to the table but the staff did advise me of this when ordering food, I had the steak which was delicious and my Girls had burgers which they really enjoyed, the deserts did take a while to arrive and I was disappointed to see they had taken the crumble off the menu which I always look forward to when I go to the Jamaica inn but overall an enjoyable evening with good food and friendly staff.

Unfortunately not as I had expected. I would only recommend going here if you want to go to a cheap tacky tourist pub. Very average pub menu although the food was edible. Friendly staff but the mannequins were in disrepair! The kids loved it but Daphne du Maurier would turn in her grave.
