Hailed as the first vegan Japanese restaurant, Itadaki Zen along the King's Cross Road is proving to be a big hit.
The dining room is a serene space with lots of blond wood and beautiful Japanese details and the whole place is uncluttered and simple.
The food is taken very seriously at Itadaki Zen where healing properties are considered alongside taste and enjoyment. Only sustainable and seasonal ingredients are used in each and every dish and much care is taken over the preparation of each and every one. Enjoy set dishes such as the Capche – gohan (fried sweet potato noodles on rice with vegetables, kimchi and miso soup).
Anyone who loves healthy eating will adore this King's Cross restaurant, and vegans will be in heaven.

Customer reviews for Itadaki Zen

We booked for 8 pm on Saturday night. Got a table within a few minutes. Waited a while with menus and then a further while for the food. Having read other reviews we were expecting that and it wasn't so long that we got annoyed. Food was delicate and fresh tasting. We choose set dinner courses to try as much as possible and weren't disappointed at all. We'll definitely come back.

I've always loved Japanese food as a light healthy option. Itadaki-zen takes this to a new level, with a clear ethos of healthy-eating ingredients. Yet fantastic flavours. This is true Japanese by Japanese, but there are also some tasty Korean options too. We've been several times now - enough to try a good sample from the extensive menu - and we haven't a single dish that wasn't excellent. I don't really like the area much (bit towards the grungy side in Kings Cross), but once inside the place has a very nice cosy feel. And the staff (through to the kitchen) are extremely nice and genuine. Worth travelling for, and revelling in.
