Isinglass is a truly English restaurant, with an ever-changing and ever-fresh menu made up of natural food grown and reared in the lush countryside surrounding Manchester. Whether it's Chat Moss Salad in summer or Slow-Cooked Boiled Beef in winter, each dish is cooked to enhance, rather than mask, the flavour of the ingredients, proving that food tastes bests when sourced from the fields, not a factory. Peacefully situated in Urmston, just a few minutes away from Chorlton, the relaxing atmosphere of Isinglass is ideal for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city centre life. Simply decorated in a period townhouse, formerly a bakery, with high ceilings, wood floors and original fireplaces, the feel and food of this restaurant inspires memories of a bygone age and always satisfies each diner.

We visited on a Friday night at 8:00. The food was amazing. We both had 3 courses and each was lovely. The bury black pudding and pulled pork arincini was fantastic, so many beautiful flavours. I ordered monkfish for mains, but they were all out. I had rump steak instead and I can honestly say it was the most beautiful steak I have ever eaten. Highly recommnded. We both had sticky toffee pudding for dessert, it was fabulous. Wine was lovely too. Waitress very friendly. Highly recommend a visit. Oh, great value for money too!

Amazing food , could eat here every night, thoughtful menu , changes regularly to fit with the seasons, although out of the centre of manchester can compeat and better any of the restaurants in manchester and less stress and expense for parking !!, would highly recommend to anyone.

we dined at 1930 on a friday nightwe appreciated being told they were very busy and they told us they would be with us as soon as poss and we only waited 5 mins or so before giving our orderi think the surroundings and 'chill out' music at just the right volume (nothing worse than music thats too loud or keeps jumping) is perfect and we sat and relaxed then ordered. the food was absolutely beautiful.we have paid a lot more for food of that standard elswhere and were very impressed.and the portions were spot on as well. we have been to other places where quantity has overtaken quality.at the end of a meal we like to guess at the bill. we guessed about [$], and were very pleasantly surprised to see [$] for the food. we have raved about it to all our friends and will be back again as soon as we can. fantastic.

Our first time at Isinglass....We went for our anniversary as we wanted something special....Gorgeous food..the mussels were sensational and the steak was the best I've had in a long time....didn't try the desserts this time.....would recommend booking at the weekend, we booked for 7:30 and by 8pm the restaurant was almost full.
