Very comfortable elegance, welcoming service. Very imaginative dairy- and gluten-free menu. Wine rather expensive

Indigo at One Aldwych Hotel showcases thoughtful, innovative food, which is carefully sourced, exquisitely prepared and entirely gluten and dairy-free. In the heart of the West End, Indigo is a vibrant hotspot from breakfast through to dinner.
The Indigo menu is crafted by Executive Chef Dominic Teague from the state-of-the-art kitchen. Showcasing inventive dishes, all food is beautiful prepared and gluten and dairy-free, without compromising on quality ingredients or taste. From quinoa, Jerusalem artichoke, pomegranate and smoked almonds salad, in-house baked samphire bread and Rhug Estate Lamb to a decadent Amedei chocolate mousse, these are dishes that stand up on their own.
Desserts at Indigo Covent Garden are no less enticing. Try chocolate mousse with honeycomb and almond milk ice cream, or wild strawberries with Nyetimber wine and basil.
Committed to renowned suppliers and expert foragers, Indigo in London blends traditional British food with gentle invention. Covent Garden and Temple tube stations are both a short walk away.

Bread good, but starter of salt cod slightly disappointing as expected it to be warm. I was looking forward to the pavlova dessert, but unfortunately it was not a pavlova but a meringue nest- I was hungry later as I didn't eat it.

The food was lovely, the staff was lovely. Only it was so loud in the restaurant, my husband and I had to shout to each other and we still didn't hear what the other was saying. Some of the seats were quite low, which made it a bit awkward to eat comfortably.

I had originally chosen this restaurant as it was part of a birthday treat for my wife who is a coeliac. The fact that every dish was gluten free meant that she could relax and choose whatever she wanted from the menu. The experience however surpassed my expectations with the food and service being of the highest quality. All five members of the party, most of whom are not coeliac, agreed that the choice or quality of the dishes was not limited in any way by them being gluten and dairy free. Everything was delicious with a special mention for the gluten free bread which was so light and tasty. The staff were attentive without us feeling any pressure. Cocktails in the bar beforehand had been a great start to the evening which was hugely enjoyable. I don't normally write feedback but felt moved to do so on this occasion as it was so good.

The food was super, the service less so. Having waited 20 minutes (and asked twice) the menus finally arrived - but without the offer we booked for. And the restaurant was not overly busy. However, the food was very nice and all gluten free, one of the reasons I booked.

I have been wanting to eat at this restaurant for a while now:. So.. Imagine... JUST imagine... (as a person with a gluten intolerance) being presented a menu and told that you can have EVERYTHING on it...
All starters, all mains, ALL deserts (the important bit!! Lol)..

This restaurant was a great find, especially when I next have friends in town with diary and gluten intolerance.
