Headed by Atul Kochhar of Michelin-starred Benares, Indian Essence offers a polished, modern take on Indian cuisine. The spotless dining room features bold magenta lighting and a chic glowing bar.
Alongside gourmet curries and succulent dishes served straight from the tandoor oven, the Indian Essence menu includes Atul’s favourites, like lobster in coconut sauce, or Goa-style sirloin steak with coriander chips. Classic European desserts are served with a twist at Indian Essence in Petts Wood, like cardamom-infused dark chocolate fondant, or rose & raspberry-scented Calcutta cheesecake.
A range of slick, refreshing cocktail mixes are offset by a bold wine list: perfectly matched to complement the intense flavours of the dishes. Regularly changing vintage bottles are available from the bar at Indian Essence near Bromley, as well as cooling masala iced tea, or passion fruit and chutney martini.
Found in a leafy London suburb, Indian Essence restaurant is a 3-minute walk from Petts Wood Rail Station.

Indian Essence offers a very warm welcome from the moment you walk through the door. All staff are professional, polite and attentive. The food is superb, it is extremely flavourful, plentiful and hot. The mutton main is gorgeous. It has a deep, rich flavour and was very tender. It was a very enjoyable evening.

A great evening, excellent food - the only thing which took away our enjoyment slightly was the noise! Perhaps we were just unlucky to be next to a table of 6 who communicated through shouting!!

The food and drinks are very good. Even the non alcoholic drinks are top class. As a vegetarian I would highly recomend the tandoori vegetables starter. Its the best dish for veggies. If you dont mind spice, the chilli pakoras are great to. The mains were decent not on par with the starter. I think they should be a notch higher for a Atul Kocchar restaurants. Deserts were quite good

Fine Indian cuisine with a buzzing but relaxed ambience. From the signature cocktail it was delicious.

I have been to Indian Essence on several occasions and the standard of the food is excellent as is the service. If you haven't been to this restaurant before, it is definitely well worth a visit to dine.

Had a wonderful meal. The food, drinks and service were all excellent. I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant especially for a special occasion as it is a bit expensive but so worth it.
