Ikoyi brings an exotic and innovative take on West African cuisine showcasing modern recipes with subtle European influences. This bright, contemporary restaurant features warm earth tones inside, while the glass facade lets diners look onto the passing bustle outside.

Imaginative dishes with Nigerian roots are served on the Ikoyi menu, starting off snacks like buttermilk plantain with smoked scotch bonnet. There is fresh seafood like the scallop with ehuru, burned cream and caviar, while succulent Iberico pork suya is complemented with fragrant hibiscus. Wonderful presentation features throughout the menu, with bold colours and a selection of homemade sauces and condiments.

Traditional West African flavours are also found on the dessert menu at Ikoyi in St James's, with Kent mango served along with ogbono and buttermilk. There is also a concise international wine list with carefully selected vintages.

A modern restaurant in London that offers a true taste of West Africa, Ikoyi is only a 2-minute walk from Piccadilly Circus Tube Station.

Ikoyi has pretty much ruined food for me forever (keep reading...). I have never had such an incredible food experience. The immense quality of the food and ingredients as well as their sensational preparation has given me a full experience for all the senses, not just smell or taste. I can't believe how affordable they are for a restaurant of this calibre - a friend and I shared a 5-course tasting menu for one and an additional bowl of smoked crab jollof rice ... overall bill was only £70, which we split, and our stomachs full! I wish I could include a picture of my goosebumps - yes, apparently food can give you goosebumps. Unfortunately I don't live in London, but if I did I'd go every week.

We adored the buttermilk plantain and the mushroom suya snacks, and we all decided we'd never had chicken with such a gorgeous texture as in the dish at Ikoyi. The sofa was about as comfortable as it gets in a restaurant, the service was pro, the dishes were creative and colourful. A hit!

To reflect the pricing the restaurant needs to up it’s game. The decor inside is a bit like eating in an Aesop store, nothing wrong with dining what looks like a sauna however it feels too casual, not reflecting the price of the food they charge, it works in gastro pubs to do restaurant quality in an informal setting but at £75 ph without alcohol didn’t feel value for money.
Service is top quality however the spiciness of the food should have been mentioned before ordering. As we were all guests sharing our plates, staff failed to offer our own side plates to eat from, fine for a gastro pub but missing the mark in a decent restaurant.

Food taste on the whole very interesting combinations although at times too many flavours going on.

Some dishes would have been impeccable if there was less going on in terms of flavour.

The concept of African food inspired by Japanese presentation is unique and perhaps that attention to detail in needed in the full dining experience.

Chef Jeremy is brilliant, and his restaurant serves some of the most inventive and thrilling cuisine I've had in years. 6 stars!!!!!!

I took my brother here for his birthday. The food and drinks are delicious and very well presented (especially a fabulous duck dish and a plantain ‘snack’ with smoked scotch bonnet which was incredible).
The interior is gorgeous and clearly very well thought out. I am definitely going to be coming again and bringing more people with me!
