Restaurant description
Bringing ground-breaking northern Chinese cuisine to one of London's most famous buildings, Hutong is housed on the 33rd floor of The Shard. From the sultry dining room at this restaurant in The Shard, floor-to-ceiling windows frame jaw-dropping views of the city. Enjoy creations inspired by dishes from the imperial palaces of Peking.
Inspired by its famous namesake restaurant in Hong Kong, the Hutong menu features favourite northern Chinese recipes served with contemporary flair. Head Chef and Sifu ('master' in traditional Chinese culture), Fei Wang, showcases his vast culinary experience honed across China and the UK. Enjoy acclaimed signature dishes at this Shard restaurant, like Chinese asparagus heart with hula dressing, and Red Star noodles: watch the waiter open a crown of red peppers to unveil a Sichuan broth with perfectly steamed halibut, rice noodles and gong vegetables. Hutong restaurant at The Shard in London also offers a delicately crafted selection of dim sum, and the menu's showstopper dish is Sichuan-style deep fried lobster, served with fresh red and green chillies, dried garlic and salted crispy black beans.
Offsetting its glittering glass façade, the Hutong dining room features traditional oriental décor, like smooth dark-wood panelling, and delicate patterned lanterns. Head to the glossy Shanghai Bar at The Shard for unrivalled views of the London skyline, and enjoy oriental-style cocktail mixes inspired by traditional Chinese medicine.
A spectacular addition to the London restaurant scene, Hutong restaurant at The Shard is found adjacent to London Bridge Tube and Train stations.
No reservations are taken for the bar, which operates on a first-come, first-served basis. The dress code is smart casual, and entry will not be allowed to those wearing shorts, sports kit, flip-flops or sports shoes.

We tried the £39 lunch menu. To be honest, we loved everything. However if i had to pick, Id say the cuttlefish was a highlight! We also loved the cocktail selection and thought the make a which cocktail was excellent.

Sorry we cancelled it because were different households. Because of the new stupid situation we cannot not dine together and I asked Hutong too and they said we cannot. But I thought rule 6 applies.

The setting and view are amazing. Staff very professional and helpful. Food delicious. Drinks extremely overpriced. Would have liked to order a bottle of wine but too expensive.
