Bringing ground-breaking northern Chinese cuisine to one of London's most famous buildings, Hutong is housed on the 33rd floor of The Shard. From the sultry dining room at this restaurant in The Shard, floor-to-ceiling windows frame jaw-dropping views of the city. Enjoy creations inspired by dishes from the imperial palaces of Peking.
Inspired by its famous namesake restaurant in Hong Kong, the Hutong menu features favourite northern Chinese recipes served with contemporary flair. Head Chef and Sifu ('master' in traditional Chinese culture), Fei Wang, showcases his vast culinary experience honed across China and the UK. Enjoy acclaimed signature dishes at this Shard restaurant, like Chinese asparagus heart with hula dressing, and Red Star noodles: watch the waiter open a crown of red peppers to unveil a Sichuan broth with perfectly steamed halibut, rice noodles and gong vegetables. Hutong restaurant at The Shard in London also offers a delicately crafted selection of dim sum, and the menu's showstopper dish is Sichuan-style deep fried lobster, served with fresh red and green chillies, dried garlic and salted crispy black beans.
Offsetting its glittering glass façade, the Hutong dining room features traditional oriental décor, like smooth dark-wood panelling, and delicate patterned lanterns. Head to the glossy Shanghai Bar at The Shard for unrivalled views of the London skyline, and enjoy oriental-style cocktail mixes inspired by traditional Chinese medicine.
A spectacular addition to the London restaurant scene, Hutong restaurant at The Shard is found adjacent to London Bridge Tube and Train stations.
No reservations are taken for the bar, which operates on a first-come, first-served basis. The dress code is smart casual, and entry will not be allowed to those wearing shorts, sports kit, flip-flops or sports shoes.

From the moment we entered everything was first class. Given a window table with fantastic views over the city. Food beautifully presented with an explosion of flavours. Service impeccable. Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and very good value for money

The view is obviously the first thing to mention, it's brilliant. Visit the toilets for an aerial view of the trains heading out of London Bridge and Canary Wharf in the distance. Then there's the decor in the restaurant itself; a bit "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", a weird contrast with the steel, glass and exposed 21st-century engineering of The Shard, but it works really well. Then there's the food, familiar and yet very special at the same time. The wine list had some eye-wateringly priced bottles but we still found a decent bottle that didn't break the bank. Finally, the service was really good. Our server was excellent, friendly, helpful, charming and conveniently the right height to talk to without having to crane your neck (high chairs, short waitress).

Excellent service and value for money. The food was gorgeous - would definitely recommend. The only thing I was not impressed with was the charge of £5.50 for water, without giving us the option of bottled or tap water. It was offered as you would expect at any other restaurant, but no mention that this was chargeable.

You pay for it being in the Shard and the view, which is amazing. If you were just paying for the food alone it’s not worth the price. A lot of what we ordered was completely bland and tasteless like the lamb ribs. They were so dry and tasteless like eating cardboard I was honestly shocked that anyone would serve them let alone a highly regarded and expensive restaurant.

Location was outstanding, restaurant views amazing, food was overpriced and very disappointing indeed. I've tasted better Chinese Food from several local small Carry Out Outlets. The Starters were lukewarm, the main course was overpriced and pretty average in presentation. The desert was embarrassing, despite the price it was presented terribly and way below average for the price Overall, not the best dining experience views and location apart! I would not recommend this Restaurant

Fabulous lunch here at Hutong in the Shard! Service was fantastic and the food was absolutely delicious. Although, be prepared to spend nearly £20 a cocktail!
