Bringing ground-breaking northern Chinese cuisine to one of London's most famous buildings, Hutong is housed on the 33rd floor of The Shard. From the sultry dining room at this restaurant in The Shard, floor-to-ceiling windows frame jaw-dropping views of the city. Enjoy creations inspired by dishes from the imperial palaces of Peking.

Inspired by its famous namesake restaurant in Hong Kong, the Hutong menu features favourite northern Chinese recipes served with contemporary flair. Head Chef and Sifu ('master' in traditional Chinese culture), Fei Wang, showcases his vast culinary experience honed across China and the UK. Enjoy acclaimed signature dishes at this Shard restaurant, like Chinese asparagus heart with hula dressing, and Red Star noodles: watch the waiter open a crown of red peppers to unveil a Sichuan broth with perfectly steamed halibut, rice noodles and gong vegetables. Hutong restaurant at The Shard in London also offers a delicately crafted selection of dim sum, and the menu's showstopper dish is Sichuan-style deep fried lobster, served with fresh red and green chillies, dried garlic and salted crispy black beans.

Offsetting its glittering glass façade, the Hutong dining room features traditional oriental décor, like smooth dark-wood panelling, and delicate patterned lanterns. Head to the glossy Shanghai Bar at The Shard for unrivalled views of the London skyline, and enjoy oriental-style cocktail mixes inspired by traditional Chinese medicine.

A spectacular addition to the London restaurant scene, Hutong restaurant at The Shard is found adjacent to London Bridge Tube and Train stations.

No reservations are taken for the bar, which operates on a first-come, first-served basis. The dress code is smart casual, and entry will not be allowed to those wearing shorts, sports kit, flip-flops or sports shoes.

We had a great meal, three courses and a glass of bubbles. The view was absolutely stunning, it's a pity we didn't have a window table, however, when one became available we were seated immediately. Great menu and attentive staff.

Choosing Hutong was a surprise for my boyfriend and he thoroughly enjoyed it. From the minute we stepped into the restaurant the service excellent. We opted for the set menu with champagne and the selection of dishes were a perfect choice exploring various cuisines. The dim sum were amazing and the various mains were tasty although a bit too much chillies were in the dish. We would definitely return to Hutong but will try the al la carte next time.

We had a fantastic meal here in one of the private rooms after going to the top for the view.
The food was delicious and the waiter was very helpful to us in choosing what to order and how much. We were nine hungry people – but we didn’t want to overdo things! The dumplings were particularly delicious, followed by a duck really nicely sliced and presented with pancakes, Afterwards we choose a few prawn, chicken and beef dishes. All were delicious; we like spice, but you can equally go for milder dishes too. They bought us an extra duck dish – with mixed with spices for us to rollup in lettuce leaves. We all had a lovely time for my husbands birthday and for pudding they even brought him a little mouse with a candle. The restaurant was very atmospheric and we had a fabulous view of London at night time. All in all a fantastic birthday experience,

We were expecting the best service and confortbable seats to rest for London walk tour but unfortunately it did not happened. The service was the basic of every restaurant, food was very spice but the waiter did not mentioned at all. For the price you are paying is not valuable.

Went with my sister just as a casual luxury dinner. Very romantic. Amazing experience. The view from our table was breath taking and the restaurant is very elegant. The food was fantastic, to all the seafood lovers- the Prawn spring rolls are literally the best prawn dish I have tasted in my life, super succulent, full of flavour and filling, so good I ordered it twice! Main dish and complementary desert were also very good and the drinks (Monkey business) were wonderful. Will definitely be revisiting and would recommend to anyone who likes good food, drinks and scenery.
