Not great. Booked the 3 course offer and the menu was different from the website when we got there. The waiters seemed confused as well.

Although the restaurant was lovely, and the food very good, I was very disappointed with the overall approach of the restaurant. I had booked a deal - 3 courses and a glass of wine for £18.95. I had booked this deal for a a treat for a friend, but it all came unravelled when we were handed the full menus. Although the fixed price menu was included in the main menu, it was very discreet, and I did not feel that I could direct my friend towards it without awkwardness. In addition, knowing we had booked this deal, the waitress did not ask us which glass of complimentary wine we would like, she simply handed us a wine menu. I did order off the fixed price menu, but when the bill came they had charged me the full price for each course, so I had to have the bill amended. Somewhat embarrassing. My friend ordered off the full menu, so my budgeted lunch of £38.00, came to nearly £100. Very disappointing. If a restaurant offers a deal, they should be held to it, and not create awkwardness by handing out a la carte menus. I did mention this to the waitress as I was leaving, and she apologised, initially blaming the reception staff for not clarifying the booking. However when we checked, it was clear on her booking sheet that I had booked the deal as mentioned above. She apologised again, but made no effort to make any kind of complimentary offer, nor to remove the cost of the two complimentary glasses of wine, which we did not get offered, nor did we receive, from the cost of the bottle of wine ordered. All in all, I felt deceived and ripped off, but I did not wish to complain in front of my friend, and ruin her treat.

The restaurant is very well set out, nice decorations, smart bar next to it. The food was good, I enjoyed a nice Portugese white wine, but my wife was struggling with the sloe gin spritzer which looked more like a drink for 2 than 1! The ambience is very nice, but the service in only average

Firstly my choice of starter was not available, secondly my guests plates were removed whilst I was still eating, thirdly we were offered dessert menus and then no one came to take our order, and finally I had to ask twice for the bill as it was forgotten first time round, not a great first impression at all.

Starter and Dessert were fantastic, but the service was fairly poor.

It is the second time we have had afternoon tea at Cannizzaro House - some years apart. First time was amazing and everything you expect of a traditional afternoon tea in such a beautiful and traditional location. This time couldn't have been more different. It was my 60th birthday and my wife asked when booking, followed up by email, telephone and when we arrived explaining it was a special birthday and could they provide some sort of candle on one of the cakes or something. My wife offered to pay. We had my granddaughter with us and family. Despite all these requests nothing was done. It is not traditional afternoon tea. We were given cups of coffee (not a pot). Tea came in a pot. . The savoury was croissant, an egg roll, small quiche and some other not traditional afternoon tea savouries- no finger sandwiches or finger rolls - all dull size and on a plate each, not a 3 tier tea tower. The 3 tier finally came with candy floss and some scones along with other cakes. It wasn't the traditional tea we had there before. It was clear their wanted us out of the restaurant so we moved outside having already said we were much happier to have our tea outside in the first place. All in all a wry disappointing experience and whilst we love Cannizzaro and will continue to visit - I would most definitely advise anyone considering afternoon tea to reconsider because it is not traditional afternoon tea.

Impressive grounds and interior. Staff very good. Food enjoyed by most of the group except that one expected a dressing on the salad and found it bland. Food presentation very good.
