Very nice restaurant layout and settings. Has table by outside window. Lovely, peaceful. Excellent Sunday lunch menu and good value.

An elegant retreat, Hotel du Vin Cambridge has a trademark French bistro, a vibrant open kitchen and a quirky outdoor cigar shack. The former University-owned building has a cosy library, while the labyrinthine cellar bar features seductive alcoves and a sophisticated Laroche wine tasting room.

The Hotel du Vin menu celebrates elegant French bistro-style dining, using fresh premium ingredients. Delicate starters such as seared scallops give way to bold mains, which include rich duck confit and wild venison haunch with cranberries and bitter chocolate.

The exquisite Hotel du Vin wine list is brought to you by the head sommelier, featuring a huge variety of carefully selected bottles. A Sunday lunch menu and an array of delectable desserts also feature.

Opposite Fitzwilliam Museum, Hotel du Vin Cambridge offers sophisticated French bistro-style dining in the centre of Cambridge. The historic King's College is just a 6-minute walk away.

Great Atmosphere, lovely food, felt a little rushed at times, was asked 3 times (by different waiters) if we had decided what we wanted for dessert and we had only been in the restaurant an hour and wanted to make an evening of it. The Waiter could not answer some very basic questions about the wine I was ordering, I thought he might have offered to find someone who did know as it is called Hotel...

Went for afternoon tea. Was a lovely experience. The restaurant is tastefully decorated, a bit dark towards the back away from the windows but it was a cloudy day. The afternoon tea was delicious. We opted for here as the menu was a bit more than cucumber sandwiches. We had a choice of tea served in a nice big pot. The sandwiches ranged from cured ham and cheese on little croissants, smoked salmon & cream cheese, a lovely quiche and egg mayo on brioche rolls. The staff were very helpful and accommodated a range of dietary needs including vegetarian. The desserts were fabulous, the gin and tonic sundae was delicious. Highly recommend.

Afternoon tea excellent. Would have appreciated more fresh tea served more frequently as part of the experience. Had to request a second pots of tea as the first pots served at the beginning of the tea were cold and too strong before we had started the second course. Better smaller pots of tea more frequently through the tea service.

Overall good experience, the problem was they didn't honour the actual offer. The deal was with a glass of wine included, but they charged us for them.

Very good selection of food, loved the French market option, and the Father's Day gifts (whiskey) which was a lovely touch. Will definitely return. Good children's menu to, not just fried food and chips

In one word - dreadful. Poor service. Very average food. We were given the wrong pudding twice!
