Opening hours
Restaurant description
Awarded "Best sushi in London" by Eaten app for their sushi, Hot Stone is an interactive dining concept in Islington. This contemporary Japanese steak and sushi bar serves dishes over a sizzling hot stone while also priding itself in being one of only 6 UK restaurants to offer certified Kobe beef. Filled with a blend of traditional and modern styles, diners can also sit up at the counter and watch the talented chefs at work.
The Hot Stone menu is centred around the ancient cooking method of Ishiyaki, where guests can grill their own choice of meats to their preferred doneness on a 400° celsius heated hot stone. Selection of fresh seafood and both Japanese and halal Australian wagyu beef are served still sizzling, with a choice of sauces like kizami jalapeño salsa and goma sauce. Choose from the head chef's specialities, including A5 Japanese Wagyu on hot stones, 48-hour marinated Chilean seabass, grilled aubergine with homemade saikyo miso and chef's award winning sushi.
Hot Stone uses only 100% real Japanese wasabi, a luxurious root which takes 3 year to grow and is freshly grated in front of diners. To drink, a diverse sake menu is served at Hot Stone in Islington, along with Japanese beers, international wines and spirits. Finish up with indulgent sweet treats like the homemade cheesecake.
A fun restaurant in London that showcases gourmet Japanese flavours, Hot Stone is a 5-minute walk from Angel Tube Station.

Staff and atmosphere really good, sushi was excellent, steak dish over priced for what we got.

I wanted to treat my partner after his promotion so I took him to Hot Stone. We have never tried sushi before so we wanted to do it properly in a nice restaurant. Where do I begin...? From the very beginning we were treated like we are the vips. Customer service and care was exceptional! We were asking some silly questions about the steak meat and sushi and wasabi and the girl who was looking after our table literally did everything she could to answer that 100% (she even showed us the sizes of the stakes and a wasabi root)! Food was absolutely delicious! Expensive BUT worth the price and worth the visit. We will definitely come back! :)

It was an amazing experience! Staff was super friendly and we have been greeted upon arrival by what I would presume was the head chef. We could not pick our favourite dish as all of them were incredible and unique.

well trained staffs, welcoming attitude (I'm sure they are all smiling but shame that couldn't see it masks on). menu is quite limited but I guess that's the concept. all dishes are very overpriced, understand the quality of fish and A5 Wagyu but spending £180 + for two and left hungry (we went to another restaurant nearby for some more food) it was somewhat disappointing. would recommend to experience but won't rush back.
