Very enjoyable evening, booked table for six people, the service was very good, far better than on previous visits. The food was very good and the service was excellent. We were shown to our table even though we were 15 mins early, drinks came very quickly and the food arrived in a reasonable time, this was a much more enjoyable visit as on previous visits we have had to wait a considerable length of time for drinks to arrive, even after food on one occasion. We are glad we came after back .

I am in dialogue with Marstons about the worst pub meal I have experience in over 50 years

We had a wonderful evening. It was my parents' 56th wedding anniversary. I put these details in the 'special requests' section of bookatable. The Hollow Tree staff and manager couldn't have done more or made us feel more welcome. Thank you very much xx

Our table for 4 was reserved and ready for us on arrival, 7.30 pm. The evening was great, food that was available was very good. But no prawn cocktails & no bananas, you shouldn't be running out of these ingredients for the popular meals, their is a Tesco around the corner come on Chris B, General Manager at The Hollow Tree manage this.
Still a good evening and will be returning.

Many silly mistakes made by the waitress, asked if we wanted sauces but then forgot them, had to ask, asked for a pint and got a half, the bread served up for the prawn cocktails were stale, had a chocolate crownie and asked for ice cream not custard, yes it came with custard, part of the pudding for one of my friends was uncooked, doughy. The rest of the food was satisfactory We are eating out again an a few weeks time, third time lucky. If not shall go elsewhere.

Appears to be slipping back to their old ways of a poor level of service. Kept waiting at the door before being shown to our table. We ordered starters and mains and used the cutlery provided when eating the starters. It was only after our mains were served and we asked for cutlery, that it was brought to us. Even then the waitress did not take into account that one of us was having steak so we had to asked for a steak knife. When we got the bill the money was placed on the table and left there for over 10 minutes before out patience went and we went to the bar to pay. Even then three members of staff walked past us before somebody eventually took our money. They need to get out of the habit that some staff collect glasses, other staff collect plates etc. an into all staff collecting whatever needs collecting.

Pub very busy on the day of visit. Only one server looking after our section and was far too many people for her to look after on her own.
