Had a lovely afternoon tea to celebrate our friends birthday. This is our second afternoon tea there. Very nice both times.

This was a special anniversary meal booked at Hogarths Stone Manor and our first visit. The experience was amazing. The atmosphere, the attention to detail of the food and the staff were great with great customer service. Especially Charlie who was a our waiter.

Very good afternoon tea; lots of additional pots of tea; excellent sandwiches with a 'mini' fish and chip - very tasty! Mini scones and assorted cakes/pastries - lovely selection.

A very pleasant evening and service was good although it was very busy. It is one of our regular evening venue for a night out.

The location of hotel (we had been there before) and the food (afternoon tea for two) were lovely. The setting in the Burrows Lounge not so good. Nothing was set upon arrival; in fairness we were early and they had waited to know if we wanted to to eat outside because it was a beautiful day. We chose inside. We were sat next to the piano where there was a mess of papers and cleaning items, not really that pleasant when you are sitting down to a tea for two. I moved the cleaning spray from right beside my head after I sat down, and the as attentive as the waiters were, they were busy hustling and bustling about, cleaning the bar, chatting to people they knew and opening all the doors and windows to air the lounge. In my experience, with Tea for Two you pay for the experience as well and the ambiance just wasn't there; plus if I'd have had to pay £7.95 for a Gin Fizz for a measure of gin, sugar, lemon and soda water with a huge wedge of lemon literally plonked on the top of a flute glass at a cocktail bar, I would have wanted my money back. The Cinderella my mom was served had grenadine spilled all down the side of the glass and was extremely sticky. It's the attention to detail that makes a place and unfortunately this was sadly lacking. The sandwiches and cakes were beautiful and thankfully when I went to pay, there was an offer on so the cocktails were free. Perhaps I should have gone with a Cosmopolitan.

This was our second visit to Stone Manor in a month. The first time there was four of us celebrating my brother-in-laws birthday. We were so impressed that my husband & I decided on this occasion to book a table for our 35th wedding anniversary; this time we felt somewhat neglected in favour of larger parties. We informed reception that we had arrived & went into the bar to get drinks, we told the bar man that we would be outside in the garden & he said the restaurant staff would bring out menus. After a 20 minutes wait, I had to go inside & ask for some. When seated we were put by open French doors with people coming in & out of. The meal itself was lovely but later on when we move back into the bar for coffee, we ordered a cafetière for two, just before a large party came in & our coffee was forgotten about. We paid the bill & left, upset by the lack of attentiveness.
