With magnificent panoramic views over Lyme Regis harbour, Hix Oyster & Fish House serves British fish & seafood. The light, airy dining room evokes a nautical charm, and stretching windows let natural light flood in.

Foregrounding superb British produce, the Hix menu utilises a traceable selection, and continues to show support for sustainable fishing methods. Simple yet elegant signature dishes at Hix restaurant sit alongside a range changing on a daily basis, with delights such as Lyme Bay fish soup, whole Dorset Crab with mayonnaise, and silver mullet with cockles and seashore vegetables.

Throughout the year, a set menu is available at Hix Lyme Regis, offering 2 courses for £17, and 3 courses for £21. If you are not after a full 3-course meal, you could try the sharing snax, which are just £12 for 3 dishes. Crumpets and tea are also served in the morning and afternoons; perfect for a quick stop whilst strolling along the stunning Jurassic coast.

The fabulous setting, especially on a clear, sunny, summer evening cannot be beaten. The food was good; well-cooked fish and plentiful vegetables. It would have been better if the veggies had arrived at the same time as the mains. Service was efficient, staff were polite. Desserts were delicious.

The food and service were very good indeed. The prices were reasonable for the high standard of the food

Service was very good although the restaurant was not busy which did not help the ambience. Food was very good and good value for money. Really enjoyed the complimentary smoked salmon pate which was sufficient as a starter..

Having dinned at the restaurant before we had high expectations and had taken friends for a special meal out and although the food and service was good there was some thing missing as compared to our first visit.
We eventually put it down to the lack of attention to detail, the dress of the staff was very casual the way they conducted them selves was ok but it was all a bit jokey.
The menu had changed considerably and appeared to have been dumb down and we know its the in thing but having the menu as a table mat did not work for us.
The neon hoopla hoop with stuff seagull does not add anything to the ambience and I think we know we are on the coast.
We would recommend the restaurant for the food and views.

The food was good. The service and staff were slow. There were children running around when they should have been sitting and having their meal.It was very distracting.
