Two Michelin-starred Hélène Darroze at The Connaught has closed its doors for a 2-month refurbishment led by acclaimed French design house, Pierre Yovanovitch Architecture d’Intérieur. Pierre’s aesthetic focuses on bold-re-imaginings of historic spaces, combining the contemporary with luxury materials.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, the restaurant is not only undergoing design alterations to the main dining room, but is also incorporating a new “Chef’s Table” and will boast a dedicated Armagnac Room for pre and post-dinner drinks.
The re-opening, scheduled for September 2019, will showcase a new menu, rooted in Hélène’s culinary style, with a larger focus on British producers and suppliers.

Repeat visit to the restaurant, the cooking is spot on, service always friendly and yet relaxed and comfortable. Lots of consideration for my son who is 10. The portions are generous, I cannot recommend it enough!

Poor attitude and service from head waiter

Overall, a great a experience - quality food and good service, more than value for money. Only qualms are that the food was over salted, and there was not much consistency with the waiters in terms of trying wine before pouring, would be good if they could stick to either offering a customer a chance to try - or not!

A classical and comfortable wood panelled dining room. The fixed price lunch menu is excellent value and service is charming. The wild garlic and smoked eel lasagne in particular was superb and the rhubarb desert skilfully constructed.

The restaurant was excellent! Many memorable dishes such as the wild mushroom, scallops, duck and baba. Better than some 3-star restaurants we have been to.

An excellent meal, everything served to me and my two companions was of a very high standard. With two glasses of wine to accompany the dishes I think it was very good value for money.

The service and setting was exemplary
Starter and desert were both presented and tasted magnifique however the main course of John Dory that both my wife and I chose was extremely disappointing
The portion was tiny
It looked nothing on the plate. A real shame
However it did not spoil the lunch as everything else more than made up for it
