After having previously attended a fabulous spa & afternoon tea day I booked an afternoon tea for two on a [voucher] offer. This visit was bitterly disappointing. Afternoon tea for 2 which was sent back. Raw dough rounds that were supposed to be scones, dry bread with unpalatable fillings, cold hard tray bake style cakes. Lack lustre choice of hot beverages. As we had a [voucher] it was scanned on arrival & redeemed, our server was unable to refund & informed us management would contact me to discuss & resolve, still awaiting correspondence. Paid for parking up to 4 hours when we were only there about 30 minutes. Hopefully I hear back soon.

We actually went for Sunday lunch with a [voucher] we received at Christmas. We booked via the website and received a conformation to say yes Sunday lunch is booked. Upon our arrival we were told no we are not doing Sunday lunch, yet at this point I showed the lovely lady in the restaurant the booking conformation, she apologised and was very helpful but it wasn't her fault. We ended up having afternoon tea which I'd like to add was lovely but not Sunday lunch which we have had before and really looking forward to.

We had afternoon tea in The Gin bar, the food was delicious and the service really was the best I've experienced, the lady who served us was amazing, friendly, polite and made our visit even more special. Would recommend and will be back.

The dining experience was good. The staff were professional and wore visors well, except one member who wore it so high on his head so his breath would have reached me.

I had bought a [voucher] for a special afternoon tea which had unusually different flavour food than your average afternoon tea. When I got there, I got given a piece of paper with the afternoon tea menu, and it was just the average afternoon tea. I didn't question it at the time as it seemed that was all what was on offer and the details of what I originally booked had been removed from the [voucher] details. I assumed this because I had booked it earlier in the year and before the coronavirus situation. Nonetheless, I had the average afternoon tea. The egg sandwich was a bit sloppy, egg mayo falling out all over the plate. The scones were tiny, more like macaroons! They were okay taste-wise, we were not given butter for the cheese scone. The brownie and cheesecake were amazing. Everything else was nothing really of note. The seat I was in was really long and it wasn't great having afternoon tea on a coffee table as opposed to a proper sized table. However, again I understand the afternoon tea was held in the gin bar due to the coronavirus situation. Staff were friendly and attentive. However, I would not have paid full price for this afternoon tea, and doubt it was even worth what I paid. I would not recommend it and would probably not go here again.
