Praised by many as the UK’s finest steak restaurant, Hawksmoor Manchester is the first opening outside London for the Hawksmoor empire. Set within a restored Victorian courthouse on Deansgate, this multi-award-winning restaurant is filled with stunning reclaimed pieces.

Headed by a range of door wedge-thick ‘large cuts’ ordered by desired weight (and ideal for sharing), the Hawksmoor menu also offers premium steak cuts, fresh fish and an array of luxury sides. Along with prime meat cuts from small British farms, enjoy indulgences like potted beef with bacon and Yorkshires, or roast scallops with tarragon & garlic. Must-try puddings include peanut butter shortbread with salted caramel ice cream, and ricotta crème brûlée with cherries.

The Sunday roast, voted the best in the UK by Observer Food Monthly, is served with perfected trimmings, with meat cuts including a slow-roast rump, or slow-roast prime rib. A revolutionary cocktail list at Hawksmoor in Manchester includes categories like ‘eye opening’ anti-fogmatics, and light afternoon ‘bridging drinks’.

Re-loved interior design pieces include glazed bricks from a Liverpool public toilet, parquet flooring and wood panelling retrieved from Birmingham's Sandwell College. Find Manchester’s Hawksmoor restaurant a 10-minute walk from Deansgate Train Station.

excellent food good sized portions, service was swift, constant top up with non chargable tap water. Good and varied choice on set menu deal

We had the 3 courses and a cocktail for £30 offer and compared to the full price menu it was good value for money. The cocktail was almost ten pounds alone. The starter salad was delicious and very fresh but the food was downhill from there. I asked for my steak cooked through and it was burnt. The cheesecake dessert was very sickly. It was deconstructed with a digestive biscuit as the base. I didn't like the waiters in casual clothing, it doesn't feel like an upmarket restaurant. In summary, the meal was OK for the price but I wouldn't go back.

The Cocktails were unique and delicious. Would love to see more red wine available by the Glass - both of us who dined like different wines. We found the Steak and Lamb incredibly tasty, but both over salted. Service was friendly and efficient. And its a gorgeous decadent dining room. Would recommend a Visit!

Food was great as always. There was a slight change to the advertised menu but to be fair it was probably better

Lovely old building and historic interior spaces could do with a bit of glamming up inside, especially the dimmly lit alley way going to the toilet. Steaks was thick, tender and juicy. I had the £30, 3 course, which was value for money. The cocktails and sticky toffee was beautiful. The staff, although pleasant needed to smile, more enthusiasm from waiting on staff and a bit more professionalism as I witnessed training issues on another table which resulted in two wasted bottles of Prosecco. I wish this rustic/urban uniform working in your own clothes would end as in my opinion doesn't work in a high end steak house. In street food etc yes but not here. In terms of food, excellent. Service, interior & atmosphere could be improved. Hostesses on the front of house imo should not be sat down behind a wooden desk on reception. They should be stood up, to meet and greet.
