Named by Giles Coren as “flawless”, Hawksmoor has earned itself something of a reputation for serving up some of the best steaks in London. After travelling the world in search of the perfect steak, owners Will and Huw decided the best dictionary-thick steaks were to be found in Britain. Hawksmoor Knightsbridge in London boasts a glamorous Art Deco inspired interior that exudes a casual elegance.

Sourcing the best beef from small British farms, the Hawksmoor menu offers hefty slabs of steak in various varieties, including a 500g bone-in sirloin and 55-day aged D-Rump, weighing in at 350g. With sides that include triple cooked chips that can be drenched in bone marrow gravy, Hawksmoor is definitely a paradise for carnivores. Hawksmoor Knightsbridge also serves British seafood including the likes of grilled scallops and thick cuts of turbot and monkfish all sourced sustainably from Brixham fish market in Devon.

For Sunday lunch in London, the Hawksmoor Knightsbridge menu has a great selection of dishes. Enjoy a glass of wine from the extensive menu along with the roast beef, cooked over charcoal and served with duck fat roast potatoes.

With steak so good “you’d want to marry it”, according to Time Out, Hawksmoor Knightsbridge sits 10 minutes’ walk from South Kensington and Knightsbridge Tube stations.

Please note Hawksmoor Knightsbridge is not wheelchair accessible.

All four of us opted for the Sunday lunch whose reputation went before it. Three of us managed to finish it and the fourth got pretty close. It was delicious, never had such a huge Yorkshire pudding before and the chunk of beer was beautifully cooked, roast potatoes and other veg were ace. Ice cold beers, nice atmosphere, second helpings of gravy and horseradish, impeccable service made for a really lovely lunch after a midday Prom. Would definitely do it again.

Warm welcome, great service, good food - beautiful steak but had to send it back as to rare in places but this was quickly rectified and we would definitely go back

The Hawksmoor is hidden away in one of London's many side streets. The restaurant is situated in the cellars of the building and the entire experience is wonderful. The decor is early 1900s with beautiful glass panels. There are different seating areas; some built into cosy alcoves, others bench and chair seating and stand alone tables. The Hawksmoor offers a very decent wine list and the staff are helpful with advice. We started with a glass of the English Hambledon sparkling wine and we were glad that we changed our choice from a standard French option. The Fatalone Primitivo was well priced and did not dissapoint. Saving the best for last - the food. Simply delicious, if you love well cooked excellent steaks then this is the place for you, although there is a fish option if one of your guests is not a meat-fan. We had the scallops and mussels as starters and then went on to share a 550 gram Chateaubriand. I was even tempted to finish with the Rhubarb Tart and following pattern with the earlier courses, simply delicious

Honestly the best restaurant I've been to in London so far. Steak was cooked perfectly, starters were lovely and came out quickly, and the staff were attentive and polite. We did the Feast on London which made it 25 pounds a person for a starter and main, but it would be worth it to come back for the regularly priced menu in my opinion. Also the atmosphere is relaxed, doesn't feel like you have to dress up majorly like other steakhouses in London.

Bartender was very helpful. Food was less than average quality and way overpriced. Service was average. Ambiance was like being in the celler of a council estate.
