The meal was superb, service gratuitous and attentive but not overly. Perfect balance and staff informative

We went, unintentionally, on their Crazy Curry Night, where they serve a fixed menu of a curry/rice/nan for £10 per head. Amazing value, especially for what I believe is a high end curry house. The various curries forced us to try something different, and they were all excellent. It was busy so service was a little slow, but it was very polite and accurate. We would definitely go again.

    Really fantastic food!
Great service too. It was lovely to have time at the end of the meal to finish drinks and collect the bill when we were ready. Thank you!

Our 4th visit to Haveli and it didn't disappoint. There is parking right outside, the venue is very nicely decorated, elegant and spacious - the tables aren't on top of each other. There are plenty of helpful staff. We chose the more expensive of the set menus, it is perfect for 4 people and means you get to share main course dishes after poppadums and the delicious starter selection - my favorite dish remains the Northumbrian lamb curry - it is perfectly spiced and tasty. In my opinion it is the best Indian restaurant around!

Very disappointing. First time we've eaten here and probably the last - don't understand all the rave reviews or how this can be anybody's favourite Indian restaurant let along "best indian restaurant in north east". The poppadums were small and a bit odd, the chutneys also minimal and not very exciting. The onion bhaji was exceptionally good but the lamb starter was odd and didn't taste much of lamb. We had the set menu and the "variety of nans" seemed to be just one variety of small plain nan (or was there garlic added, couldn't tell). For the price of the menu and by the description we'd expected something more interesting like keema or peshwari to be included. The lamb railway curry was nice but not a show-stopper. The chicken tikka masala was very tomato-ey. But one of the annoying things was that they added a 10% service charge to the bill that I don't recall them mentioning and that we didn't notice - and they certainly didn't comment when we added our own tip on top of that. It was all okay but not great for the price and I doubt we'll return.

Thought I was booking for an A La Carte menus meal, but found it was a New Years Eve menu only on arrival. Price was high for unwanted entertainment and bubbly, but restaurant kindly reduced the price to allow for this. Food excellent as always, with a good choice of courses which at first seemed small, but added up to a substantial meal, promptly served, but not rushed.

Very good quality food and service. Vindaloo excellent (as usual). Every visit here is always a very enjoyable experience.
