Discovered via a sweeping staircase, the bar at Harvey Nichols in Birmingham showcases apothecary-style bottle displays concealed behind porthole windows. Pull up a high-backed velvet stool or head to the leather booths, and sip on cocktails like the fruity daiquiri blossom, or a cooling coupe sorbet.

We were at the restaurant last Wednesday, early evening. The staff were very helpful and accommodating as we turned up twenty minutes late. We had the set menu with a cocktail. The cocktails were very good. The food was innovative and absolutely delicious. Service was excellent. We will return!

Excellent- good food and great service

The restaurant was underwhelming at best. There was no natural light and there was nothing of note to make it particularly interesting, luxurious or even inviting. Our waitresses were pleasant although there seemed to be confusion with which menus was available. We had an ‘adequate’ brunch menu item without the gluten free sourdough promised on the menu, and without the regular sourdough promised by the waitress. Instead we were served toast and lied to. We had to prompt for desert menus and remind them to take our order. Our biggest annoyance however was the lack of drinks. We received two drinks each for whole duration of our sitting (3 hours) despite asking and reminding. Apparently the bar is not near the restaurant and therefore it takes a long time?!? I wouldn’t recommend harvey Nichols brasserie or even consider returning. It was very poor value and a worse experience.

The restaurant was quiet initially as it was a Tuesday evening. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and efficient in getting the food orders taken. Great music and ambience. We enjoyed the choice of cocktails offered but they did take a while to arrive.

The champagne brunch on Sunday was amazing! Definitely a big high-light of our weekend in Birmingham. The food was great, the staff were really friendly and the champagne flowed for 2 hours!

I have to say for department store like Harvey Nichols the Brassiere is a very poor design and the food was less then average. I booked for my family the £22 winter dining menu and was glad I didn't pay full price. There was zero flavour in the food but the cocktails were lovely and the wait staff were very friendly. Also the seating was not well thought out, we sat on the bonket and the table was much too high way nearly to my chin. This made for a very uncomfortable dining experience and not good for the digestive system at all. Overall poor experience.

The whole experience in the dining area was fabulous, service, food was delicious, only downfall was at bar area the length of time we had to wait for a pre drink cocktail was 35mins,shocking,glasses and coffee cups sitting around on bar not what we expected of Harvey Nichols,my son and a guest also experienced the same wait for drinks,in fact we had finished our meal and went to sit with them and they were still waiting for the cocktails they had ordered,we ordered more cocktails and again the same problem with the wait again India the bar tender apologised on all occasions but it was very disappointing and let the evening down.
