Restaurant description

The Second Floor Bar and Brasserie offers a relaxed yet stylish environment in which to enjoy all-day dining, overlooking the expansive views of Exchange Square. This elevated spot offers views over the city, and a black lacquered bar offers a fashionable selection.

A diverse mix of flavours, the Harvey Nichols menu spans from eclectic ‘little plates’ and wholesome bento boxes, to classic main courses. An array of exciting flavours can be found in the likes of tandoori monkfish with sticky mango rice, or pea and mint cannelloni with smoked feta, whilst hearty classics include a succulent signature HN burger, or Atlantic-caught cod with chunky chips.

Innovative twists for dessert include a salted caramel pot au chocolat with hazelnut shortbread, and Vimto summer pudding with clotted cream. Chic and sultry seasonal cocktails are served at the Second Floor Bar, and delicious offerings for brunch include streaky bacon and maple syrup waffles, and classic eggs benedict.

Set in one of Manchester’s most iconic buildings, Harvey Nichols Brasserie is a 6-minute walk from Manchester Victoria Rail Station.

We booked because we happened to be in Manchester for my daughters 18th. I explained this in the booking and was disappointed to be offered a difficult table in the middle of the restaurant. After the hostess was initially pretty unhelpful other staff went to a lot of effort to create a much better arrangement and the service and food were just brilliant , we were all very happy .

Handy location near the Arndsle Centre. The food was very good and excellent value for money when opting for the set menu. Prawn spring rolls with peanut sauce was lovely. The goats cheese agnolotti, braised bacon chop and the sea trout were all excellent and we were all happy with what we ordered. I had the Arctic roll and wished I had opted for the cheesecake after seeing what everyone else had. The cocktails included in the menu were lovely and there is a choice of 3 which makes a nice change

Such a brilliant offer on the 3 courses and a cocktail for £22.50. Highly recommend the restaurant and great customer service. Our fav restaurant for our ladies catch up.

Very friendly and unpretentious (wasn't expecting that in Harvey Nichols). Food was tasty and just the right amount. We sat in the circular part with good views over the central area. The only disappointment was the cocktail which was more like a long fruity drink with ice. I do prefer less liquid but with a more intense flavour.

Very good value for money and the food was delicious. Loved the king prawn summer rolls and the blackcurrant cheesecake. The restaurant is very classy with superb views. The only niggle was that we asked for tap water which never arrived.

Excellent value meal from their taste of summer offer of three courses and a cocktail for 22 pounds. Food was well cooked with the pea soup starter being a particular favourite. Service was very good and helpful
