Restaurant description

The Second Floor Bar and Brasserie offers a relaxed yet stylish environment in which to enjoy all-day dining, overlooking the expansive views of Exchange Square. This elevated spot offers views over the city, and a black lacquered bar offers a fashionable selection.

A diverse mix of flavours, the Harvey Nichols menu spans from eclectic ‘little plates’ and wholesome bento boxes, to classic main courses. An array of exciting flavours can be found in the likes of tandoori monkfish with sticky mango rice, or pea and mint cannelloni with smoked feta, whilst hearty classics include a succulent signature HN burger, or Atlantic-caught cod with chunky chips.

Innovative twists for dessert include a salted caramel pot au chocolat with hazelnut shortbread, and Vimto summer pudding with clotted cream. Chic and sultry seasonal cocktails are served at the Second Floor Bar, and delicious offerings for brunch include streaky bacon and maple syrup waffles, and classic eggs benedict.

Set in one of Manchester’s most iconic buildings, Harvey Nichols Brasserie is a 6-minute walk from Manchester Victoria Rail Station.

My boyfriend and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect NYE. The food was incredible and the service from our waitress was outstanding. Thank you for making our last evening in 2018 perfect. Kind regards Lindsey and Chris

The staff could not do enough for us. Polite and courteous, nothing was too much for them. We asked for a good view as it was our anniversary and this happened was absolutely lovely.

Service not great, drinks took long time to arrive. Starter - bread and oil - ok. Main course- hake, friends not cooked properly and Luke warm and sent back, so then couldn’t eat meal together. Mine was ok however fish quite bland both in flavour and colour - beige overall. Refund given. Prosecco and puddings great. Waiter most attentive and animated when telling us about reward card and bar was closed

Excellent service. Could not have been more attentive or kinder and food was excellent.

It was something of a disappointment. The food was obviously mass production and I would have chosen something else from the menu, but it was obvious that nothing was going to be “great”. Also, for this type of restaurant you expect simple things like a table cloth, especially when the tables are pot marked. The service was fine, however it took 3 requests for me to be able to pay my bill. I still like the look of the place, but I can’t see my self returning, especially as the competition in Manchester puts this food/place to shame.
