  • By Regular diner there... Still hungry! from Leeds
    13 August 2012

Dined at 12.45pm..so noisy, struggled to converse across large round table. Dine there often , but find their prices not competitive... Virtually no veg with set meal. Not really getting prosecco as complimentary at set meal price [$]. Pleased tho that Latte's are back to being a good size , served in a glass. Really need to have 3 courses at lunch to feel you've eaten.. At [$]... Is steep for weekday lunch!

The meal was trying to do too much, it wasn't well executed and i think none of it quite worked. My girlfriend's starter of soup was solid, the balance of flavours in my starter wasn't right. Hake as a main was alright but the dauphinoise potatoes, were poor. My pork was dry and bit rare in parts, and bland. The polenta tasted like the cheese that comes out a toastie and was dry. The desserts were the wrong size, the tort was too much and found it cloying. I'm not sure the popping candy fitted the general decorum of the restaurant... Think the restaurant entirely relied upon the fact it was in harvey nichols, I've eaten in better restaurants in leeds for similar price.

Lovely food and just the right amount for a pre-theatre lunch.

All very good except Horseradish sauce - not nearly enough kick and too creamy!

dined at 11am. had full breakfast but food was nothing special neither was view or service. had travelled a long way after reading good reports but it didn't live up to expectations. for the price paid [$] you expect something fantastic but unfortunately it wasn't!

We ate dinner at the restaurant and it was excellent! The choice of food was very variable, the service was amazing and our drinks were subtly topped up and everything was done very professionally. The food was great and good value for money. I had the confit duck salad and the fennel crusted pork, both super with a good choice of side dishes. Happy to pay for it and for the service charge. I'd recommend anyone to go here. I'll definitely be coming again!

We dined at 10.00 am. We have been 3 times at that time and 3 times for lunch at 12.00pm. The last time we had lunch the menu had changed and was not to our liking (our particular taste) so reverted back to breakfast/brunch which we know is fabulous. Food brilliant, fabulous service, could not fault anything. We will be back!!

watch out when looking at the menu - this is a 'sample' menu, we did'nt spot this and therefore went expecting certain foods which were then not available, over paid for what we got.

An excellent three course meal served quickly enough for our pre=thatre requirement.
