Restaurant description

With its thatched roof and homely rural charm, Harvester Running Horse is a lovely pub restaurant to spend time in. A host of British and international recipes for the whole family can be found on the packed menu, with cask ales served at the bar, and special children's activities offered for the little ones.

From its succulent grill selection to the celebrated unlimited salad bar, the Harvester menu is packed full of wholesome flavours for the whole family. Rotisserie chicken cooked in a secret blend of spices is available alongside tender smoked ribs marinated in signature BBQ sauce, while smaller tapas-style dishes are perfect for sharing, with options like spicy crackerjack prawns, and smoked pork and cheddar and jalapeno sausage. There are generous combo platters, juicy steaks, well-stacked burgers, and a great salad selection with premium additions.

All kinds of sweet treats are served on the dessert menu at this Harvester in Maidstone. The Sundae selection loads real dairy ice cream with toppings like warm chocolate fudge brownie, Oreo® biscuit crumb, raspberries and marshmallows, while classic options like Cherry Pie accompany fantastic vegan options like our tangy blackcurrant mousse on a light biscuit base. From the bar, there are world beers, spirits, and speciality soft drinks for the kids.

A great blend of pub tradition and modern dining comfort, Harvester Running Horse is just a 4-minute drive from Maidstone East Rail Station.

Very bad experience. Only one bitter beer in a bottle available. No wine list - hadn't arrived. When a bottle of wine was brought to the table a member of bard staff plonked it down unopened and disappeared without a word. Salad bar half empty. Food bland, just about eatable. Only good point - friendly waitress. We have been to the Running Horse before and each time we say 'never again'. This time we mean it.

To be honest very disappointing , had the orrginal combo , chicken and ribs , very smal portions, both meat very dry, appears the meals had been sitting under heat light before coming to table ! Could see this from where sitting , didn’t complain just decided not to return for a while !

Everything fantastic but as there was a discount that evening they suspiciously ran out of best steak 7pm ruining otherwise great meal and service. Do not eat there when discounts are available
