A charming pub with exposed brick walls and cosy nooks throughout, Harvester Five Bells is a popular spot for honest home-style dining. As well as signature grill delicacies, there are plenty of sharing-style recipes and an indulgent dessert list that's hugely popular.
From its succulent grill selection to the celebrated unlimited salad bar, the Harvester menu is packed full of wholesome flavours for the whole family. Rotisserie chicken cooked in a secret blend of spices is available alongside tender smoked ribs marinated in signature BBQ sauce, while smaller tapas-style dishes are perfect for sharing, with options like spicy crackerjack prawns, and grilled chorizo with padron peppers. There are generous combo platters, juicy steaks, well-stacked burgers, and a great salad selection with premium additions.
All kinds of sweet treats are served on the dessert menu at this Harvester in the Basildon. The sundae selection loads real dairy ice cream with toppings like warm chocolate fudge brownie, raspberries and honeycomb pieces, while classic British options like Bramley apple pie sit alongside international twists like key lime pie. From the bar, there are world beers, spirits, and speciality soft drinks for the kids.
Serving up honest, wholesome recipes for reasonable prices, Harvester Five Bells is 5 minutes' drive from Basildon Rail Station.

We were dining here with friends who wanted to become acquainted with my Parents, so we were going into the unexpected. The relaxed atmosphere really attributed to a lovely evening. Before we went to our table, we were even asked if the music was too loud as we were sitting under a speaker, and the waiter went and turned the music down. The waitress for our table was so friendly, and the food was excellent, except my Husband did say that his corn on the cob was cold, which was the only let down for him. Mine was, but it didn't bother me! All in all, a lovely evening.

Due to lack of stock my party was not able to have their first and in one case their second choice. No burgers, roast chicken, jacket and other potatoes, salad bar lacked salad potatoes, etc, etc. I must remember not to visit a harvester on or just after a festive season.

Very disappointing. Food presentation was poor and unappetising and restaurant and salad bar looked grubby. Had to complain that some of the food was not very hot and overcooked eg potato skins (which were ordered as a starter and arrived in the smallest bowl) as well as chips and scampi. Waitress was very helpful and apologetic and fetched her manager who replaced the meal of scampi and chips and brought two fresh bowls of chips (although there were three of us eating chips with our meals) , but that meant one of us had to wait to eat their meal when the others had almost finished. They had run out of English mustard as well as teapots, and dirty crockery from starters was not collected until we asked for it to be! On a positive note (the only one) the three other members of my party who all had steak said the steak was very tasty.
