Two of us had afternoon tea, which enjoyed very much. We couldn't eat all of the cakes but were able to take them home. The selection of teas was very interesting.

Formerly the cobbled driveway to the original station, Hansom Lounge at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel London offers a selection of light bites and refined afternoon tea. The historic building has retained many original features including a vaulted roof and Barlow Blue girders.

Light bites on the Hansom Lounge menu include fresh sandwiches, such as the St Pancras Club, salads, and hearty burgers with fries. Sharing boards include a cured British Meat Board. To finish your meal the Hansom lounge offers a great range of desserts including a Valrhona Chocolate tart or a Seasonal Berry Pavlova.

Afternoon tea at the Hansom Lounge King's Cross exudes quintessential indulgence. Start with a selection of sandwiches that embrace European tradition with a modern twist, including the likes of the Jambon Blanc Flume, Salmon Dutch pancakes and the Cucumber sandwich. The sweet section of the menu was finely selected to provide the perfect accompaniment to the savoury, completing the European picture with the likes of the Paris-Brest-Paris or Strawberries and Cream and of course the classic Scones, Cream and Jam. As well as a range of teas, the afternoon tea menu is topped off by a choice of cocktails and champagne.

Housed in an iconic building, Hansom Lounge London sits next to Kings Cross and St Pancras Rail Stations.

Considerate and very attentive service. Delicious food, but the cakes were too creamy. Impressive room. The bill was confusing - showing discretionary service included and asking for a gratuity.

Beautiful surroundings and we were very well looked after by the staff.
The savoury section was truly delicious. The sweet section was lovely to look at but they overdid the cream so that it began to be sickly - every sweet thing was stuffed with cream!
Nevertheless - highly recommended and the ambience was perfect!

Excellent experience, loved the harpist - she was amazing! They catered very well for me as a coeliac (gluten-free) and also brought a special mini cake with Happy birthday written on it for my husband's birthday which was a lovely touch.

The only disappointment was that when I booked online and re-checked the booking verbally afterwards by phone they confirmed it was £38 per person package for afternoon tea including a glass of champagne each but when we got there, there was no champagne so I had to pay extra for it.

But overall, great atmosphere and service and the food was delicious.

The only thing I would have changed would have been to add a few more sandwiches as it was 70% sweet, 30% savoury. I would've preferred 40-50% savoury and the rest cakes and scones.

If you want to spend a few hours in a lovely location, absolutely book this afternoon tea. If you’re a foodie, walk on by! The sandwiches were ok, the scones average, and the cakes (with the exception of one) inedible: heavy, flavourless and way too sweet. We told the waitress, who was charming and lovely throughout, and she was apologetic but obviously hadn’t been trained in what to do - she didn’t bring the manager, offer alternatives, etc. She was very uncomfortable and my friend and I (who hadn’t seen each other for several months) didn’t want to spend our time together on complaining. The venue is gorgeous and the service charming.

Disappointed is an understatement!! The service was shocking, took 2 and a half hours to be served afternoon tea!! We kept having to grab any waiter/waitress that passed to get any kind of service! the layout of the tea was ridiculous! had a stand put next to us but nothing was ever put on it?? the table next to us had there cakes put on there stand so they could have them when they were ready! we were brought 3 finger sandwiches out & left for ages before the waitress came back to ask if we would like any more! Then another 45 minutes before the cakes arrived! by which point we were close to telling them to box them up & we would take them with us!! My husband & our friend ordered the burgers which came with cold chips which we had to send back & my husbands burger bun was stale!! I would never recommend this hotel for afternoon tea to anybody!!

The Afternoon Tea was a great experience, very special ambiance, very nice and qualified staff. The food was very good, I‘d rather prefer more sandwiches and less dessert, though. The sweet dishes were too big, I didn‘t manage to eat all of them and skipped the scones as well. Referring to my son the plain scones were a little bit to dry.
But overall I can recommend the afternoon tea at the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel!
