Despite of part of the lounge is under renovation, we were impressed. The waitress, who is from Romania, was very helpful and attentive. We love her hospitality. Not to mention the gorgeous staircase that drew me here in the first place.

Iconic and unapologetically British, The Hansom is a dynamic space, retaining its iconic British heritage within a modern aesthetic setting.

The food menu at The Hansom is a British affair for the modern diner. Concise yet delicious, this all-day dining menu offers unique bites from Yorkshire pudding bacon wraps to haggis Scotch eggs and vegan cheese sharing boards.

The Hansom is King Cross' ultimate destination bar, offering a range of unique cocktails inspired by 18th and 19th-century classics. The cocktail menu is comprised of 2 main sections: The Hansom Classics incorporate 18th-century drinking traditions, such as the Oxford Night Cap - the drinking norm of 18th century Oxford University, whereas The Hackney Classics are based on the 19th-century mixed drinks revolution, serving lesser known classic drinks such as the Jack Rose (1927). A range of craft beers, ales and wines are also offered.

Afternoon tea at The Hansom offers the best of British tradition, an elegant afternoon tea inspired by Victorian themes. Alongside the classic finger sandwiches expect more substantial savouries including Scotch eggs or sausage rolls.

Housed in an iconic building, The Hansom London sits next to Kings Cross and St Pancras Rail Stations.

Despite the website saying "As well as a range of teas, the afternoon tea menu is topped off by a choice of cocktails and champagne" please be aware that the drinks are not included in the standard offer. I think it is easy to assume it is from the website if you don't look at the second page of the menu - leading to disappointment.

Overall the tea was acceptable if a little rich - particularly the cakes.

The promised music didn't materialise and our table was close to the hotel check in desk so there was a lot of activity constantly.

The ambiance is exceptional - the restaurant being part of a historic train station building .
However the food was mediocre - the bread for the sandwiches was NOT fresh , the ingredients in the sandwiches ( for the tea ) were unexceptional, the tea cakes - were of average supermarket quality ( as were the teas !)
Service was inattentive , not impressed .
Would not return to this restaurant .

The staff were engaging and polite, however, we had to ask for hot water several times to top up the tea and would have expected the staff to be just a little more attentive. None of them asked if we were enjoying our experience, but when we approached them, they were always helpful. Environment was good with comfortable seating. The sandwiches were a little dry and not a very full filling. The scones and cakes were very nice, however there was 2 cakes that were similar as they were full of the same cream which was too much, particularly as there was cream with the scones as well. Overall, the experience was pleasant, but could be improved. I've enjoyed better elsewhere.

It was the worst afternoon tea I have ever had. Dry roasted pepper sandwich, tomato and avocado sandwich never got the smoked salmon pancake. The sandwiches were dry. I thought the service was slow and poor.

We had the afternoon tea .Very welcoming and excellent staff and good food but not cheap and thought it unnecessary to charge for extra tea

Impeccable service and stunning location. The savoury serving was incredible, and our dietary requirements were met with no trouble at all.
The scones were lovely and fluffy, however two person meant we were quite full when the time for the sweet serving came about. The chocolate and Dulce de leche piece was a clear winner, while the strawberry and vanilla mousse missed the mark for us. Perhaps more strawberry and less mousse?
Everything was beautifully created and served, and the tea selection was great, as was the hot chocolate. Thank you!

It was amazing food, place and service. English scones were really great taste. We can try to drink some kind of tea. And also we can get refill any time.
