Was a great meal, food excellent staff friendly but a little slow in service. Not a big gripe and definitely wouldn't stop me eating there again

Awful service from start to finish! Whilst in the restaurant there were only 3 other tables with people besides ourselves and lots of staff but still service was slow and we needed to ask for service. Our server could not have cared less about us or the job she was doing and did nothing to hide that fact. The staff had no clue about allergens and had to look it up. She was most annoyed at asking for no mayo on kids burgers and no lettuce on one and couldn’t grasp this order. In the end we asked for no mayon and forget the lettuce we’d pick it off! Our group was made up of 3 adults and 3 young children. The 3 kids ordered burgers. Fifteen minutes after our order was taken we were informed by our disgruntled server that there were no kids burgers left! Really? Ironic that it’s the Handmade Burger Co! Back to choosing and when food finally arrived we had to ask for cutlery, sauces and a drink missing from the order. The chicken orders were cold but by this point we just wanted to get some food and leave so made do with the nice chips! Chased up the kids’ ice cream as no one came, paid the bill and left swiftly! Won’t be bothering with this place again. Awful!

Booked online and requested a booth, which we got. The waitress asked if we'd been before and if we knew how the ordering system worked....yes! Been several times before. We had the blue cheese and bacon burger, classic cheese burger and buffalo burger. All delicious. Side orders of normal chips x 2 to share and onion rings. Only slight complaint was there were lots of small hard chips and a few bad ones and the onion rings were a bit soggy. We just opted for bottomless soft drinks and when dispensing the coke, it was very weak looking so we mentioned this to one of the staff and the pump was changed straight away and a fresh glass of coke was brought to our table.

Burgers did not disappoint, delicious, succulent, tasty as were the home made chips. I do wish they weren't served on those silly bits of greaseproof paper, though, and the menu is a bit manic to look at - burgers, dirty burgers and jimmy's burgers all in different places so not easy to scan. The staff were friendly and efficient and made us feel very welcome. We didn't stay for a dessert. To be honest, it is a lovely place but there is no door, and because of its space, it felt quite cold - was tempted to sit and eat with my coat on. I would certainly recommend it if you like a burger, but wear warm clothing!

Food in general is always amazing. The gluten free option is rather disappointing as the bunnwas served still in the microwaveable bag.

    Overall a great evening.

Good burgers - portion size generous and taste excellent
Not all burgers came as advertised in some different ingredients from menu but very tasty and not a problem. Very hungry so didn't complain.
Only thing I would say is that the ambience is not very 'cosy'/restaurant-like - more fast-food ambience and 'male'. Dim lighting, cool temp, functional. I would have liked slightly warmer temp and a candle/spotlight on the table.
