We had friends coming to London from Denmark for a short holiday. We suggested that we all go for an afternoon tea, which was new to them and they thoroughly enjoyed it .As did we.

An escape from the lively hustle and bustle of Soho, Ham Yard Bar & Restaurant offers modern British cuisine. Enjoy classic flavours in a plush yet contemporary setting, adorned with an eclectic mix of colourful patterns and fabrics, and head up to the roof terrace for inventive house cocktails.

Beer-battered oysters and kohlrabi are highlights for starters, followed by pork belly with mustard lentils and salsa verde or tuna with chorizo for main. You might find vanilla crème brûlée with Armagnac poached prunes on the seasonally changing menu, for an autumnal twist on the popular dessert.

The bar at Ham Yard in Soho has its own menu, offering snacks, sliders and melts as well as a selection of ‘profitabombes’ for a sweet treat. Afternoon tea is exceptionally popular here, with sweet and savoury favourites served alongside a wide range of teas.

A unique setting, the Ham Yard in London even boasts its own bowling alley. Ham Yard is found a 3-minute walk from Piccadilly Circus Tube Station.

    An wonderful experience !!!
We booked in for afternoon tea but when we arrived we asked if we could change to lunch.
No qualms at all !! All the staff we encountered were attentive, friendly, helpful and a credit to the venue.
Venue itself was beautiful, such diverse decor, but all went so well together.
    Ambience fantastic!
    Food was excellent.
We did however think on the whole the wine menu was a little too expensive. But we chose a very reasonable bottle of white Chardonnay which was actually delicious, so we had two !!!
We were there celebrating our sister’s 60th, and although we did not mention this when we booked, it was mentioned casually in conversation with the staff and a little surprise came at the end of our dessert.
I would so highly recommend this dining venue, and look very much forward to visiting again.
Thank you once again to all the staff who served us.
    Well done !!

Lovely afternoon tea. Very fresh and tasty. Nice to be able to take the cajes we had no room for home. Staff all deliightful and very careful to enquire about allergies. Beautiful surroundings and lovely flower arrangements.
The little gluten-free cake with candle for my friend's birthday was a special touch.

We visited for Afternoon Tea, the dining area was lovely and felt private even with other guests around.
Service was great, our hostess was attentive and explained all our food and kept an eye out to top our drinks up with out having to ask.
I'm vegetarian, and was beyond catered for. I had also mentioned in the booking that it was a birthday and without even having to remind anyone a birthday plate was brought out towards the end of our meal which was a lovely touch!

I had a wonderful time at Ham Yard Bar & Restaurant. My friend and I really enjoyed afternoon tea. The food and tea are excellent but the price is incredibly reasonable for the hotel located in the city centre of London. The staff were so attentive and friendly that we could order a refill of tea timely.

The afternoon tea appears to have gone down in quality from the last time I had tea at the Ham Yard, which was in 2018. One problem is that was no assigned server. Various employees - about 6 in total - floated in and out of my afternoon tea experience, and no one took responsibility for the tea service. It was very disjointed. I felt like I had to flag down any passing person. Further, there was no personal connection that left me with a feeling that I was actually cared for and about, as a customer. There were sufficient employees on duty that day to assign someone to my table; I saw them milling about and chatting to each other.

What a wonderful experience ! The bowling was bespoke & fun. The afternoon tea was tasty however we would of liked a better balance between sweet & savoury, we felt there was more sweet on this occasion.
Our waiter was exceptional he treated us like royalty & we enjoyed the ambiance.

Thank you overall a wonderful time & would recommend to anyone.

Very nice afternoon tea in a beautiful setting with great atmosphere. Had been told it was best a.tea in London, but not sure about that - sandwiches were good but forgettable, not even sure what some were. The waiter offered to come back & tell us what was in them (as menu taken away) but didn't. One tasted like Philly & very thin cucumber, one definitely had Sun dried tomato in but it was the same consistency as fish paste, not sure what else was in there, so rather ordinary except for the lamb slider which was yummy. Scones excellent, as we're most of the little cakes, although a couple were too sweet for me to finish. Had a lovely glass of fizz - we would have had more but no one came to ask! Service in the main pretty good, but obviously some very junior wait staff - we were only asked if we wanted more hot water when we had virtually finished. One thing slightly spoiled it for me was that it was chilly & the aircon was a bit fierce but perhaps that was because we were next to the window (unopened).

Fantastic afternoon tea and great value. Love the setting of Ham Yard, and we had a wonderful afternoon.
They were able to swap out certain items for my guest who had a couple of dietary requirements.
The only thing I'd comment slightly negatively on is when the waitress explained everything on the sandwich/cake stand, she pointed at each thing individually and her fingers were almost touching the food. I think a gesture in the right direction is fine, but hands on food isn't.
