Very nice time having a relaxing festive afternoon tea in an elegant and quiet area if the hotel with my son and daughter. The hotel and the staff are all great. Highly recommended!

An escape from the lively hustle and bustle of Soho, Ham Yard Bar & Restaurant offers modern British cuisine. Enjoy classic flavours in a plush yet contemporary setting, adorned with an eclectic mix of colourful patterns and fabrics, and head up to the roof terrace for inventive house cocktails.

Beer-battered oysters and kohlrabi are highlights for starters, followed by pork belly with mustard lentils and salsa verde or tuna with chorizo for main. You might find vanilla crème brûlée with Armagnac poached prunes on the seasonally changing menu, for an autumnal twist on the popular dessert.

The bar at Ham Yard in Soho has its own menu, offering snacks, sliders and melts as well as a selection of ‘profitabombes’ for a sweet treat. Afternoon tea is exceptionally popular here, with sweet and savoury favourites served alongside a wide range of teas.

A unique setting, the Ham Yard in London even boasts its own bowling alley. Ham Yard is found a 3-minute walk from Piccadilly Circus Tube Station.

We ordeded a table at 16 o´clock but came half an hour before and got told we could wait outside in the cold until our table was ready, and it was freezing...
When our table finally was ready we got seated near by the hallway so it was very loud. We ordered afternoon tea, but the table wasn't big enough, so we got the food on a table almost on the floor. The food was not good either.. There was 4 petit four. One was soaky, one tasted so synthetic, one tasted old and the last one was just bad. The sandwiches bread was dry and look and tasted like it was made in the morning. The salmon warm and the ham was chewy. The drinks didn't taste of much, the cacao tasted like milk and the tea was boring. We would not recomment this at all.

Enjoyable afternoon tea experience. In a bright and spacious dining room right in the heart of Piccadilly.

Took my friend here for her birthday afternoon tea. Everything about it was fantastic. Beautiful surroundings, friendly, efficient staff and gorgeous food. Can't fault it in any way.

I booked the festive afternoon tea after a recommendation. I dined with a friend I had a gluten and dairy free version and she had a veggie, reduced sugar one.
The hotel itself has an upmarket feel, wheb we visited the bar and restaraunt was packed sitting in the orangery whilst a little quieter wasn't as peaceful as I had hoped.
we felt the service was lacking at several points - on arrival we stood at reception unsure as to where to go. Staff standing behind the desk ignoring us until they were ready, service during the tea was poor and few between. None of the food items were explained - leaving us to to guess what we were actually eating! Drinks we did order did not appear, and we were not asked of we would like more tea or if everything was satisfactory. I made written amendments to the dietary requirements 6 days in advance however this was not noted down.
The food itself was a massive let down - seeing everyone's wonderful teas come out and then ours was a bit surprising! There was no festive-ness to our menu whatsoever the same items a friend of mine had 2 months ago.
We only had 2 choices of sandwich egg and cress and for me smoked salmon and my friend egg again and beetroot. Neither were amazing nor very festive!
The scones were nice - the passionfruit jam amazing! The best part of the meal! Cake wise we had what I now know is an apple type crumble which tasted like a strange mousse with a nutty crumble at the bottom, a mango cheesecake - which just tasted of tumeric (not good!) A rather bland chocolate sponge - which was the nicest cake and lastly 2 fruit skewers each which had 1 blueberry 1 raspberry and 1 BlackBerry on - a massive cop out I can have this at home!

We were both very disappointed and I won't be returning.

The afternoon tea area was stunning and the staff were lovely. The crockery is to die for. Only problem was the gluten free scones were like door stops. Huge shame. Also we were told no sandwiches had butter (daughter doesn’t like butter) but they all did. It didn’t spoil things though. I’d definitely recommend it.

Lovely setting, staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Especially liked the personal touch of a homemade Christmas decoration being given as a gift upon having the afternoon tea. Lovely afternoon.
