Booking was easy. Unfortunately the service and food left a lot to be desired. I am not in the habit of complaining but most people in my party were extremely disappointed. It also happened to be my husbands birthday, which I will add, I didn't mention to anyone at the hotel. We waited a long time for the people having starters to be served. Also waited a very long time to be served our drinks. It wasn't as if the restaurant was heaving with people. When the long awaited mains arrived there was nothing but dismay. Steaks were tough and too well done for most, not as asked for. Some were replaced with Salmon which again seemed over done. If fact everyone was totally underwhelmed. There was one young lady who did her best and was very apologetic. I felt sorry for her as she didn't seem to have much support. I think it was the worst service and food I can remember anywhere. The staff definately need more training. Such a shame because it is a nice hotel . The bill was greatly reduced and was given complimentary drinks, but would have prefered a better overall experience.

Wonderful Sunday lunch. A really shame the Manor is not advertised enough. Beautiful setting and surrounding. Carvery lunch not available as very few people booked in for lunch. Good value lunch. Very attentive staff especially Georgina who let us sit and have lunch in gardens. Lovely experience. Have booked afternoon tea next week.

Food was very good - portions not too generous though - chunky chips first class. Children's menu varied and very good value- main menu somewhat overpriced. Coffee etc silly prices. The waiting staff need a lot more training re clearing tables we were still left with starter cutlery and sauces while having our desserts. Wine glasses left on the table although we had no wine.

We had afternoon tea, and it was not anything special - helpings were ungenerous - cutting one small tart between two - no one offered to refill the drinks - compared to other hotels where we have had afternoon tea this was not very remarkable.

Lovely afternoon tea & great value - I would highly recommend. My only (very small) criticism would be that personally I like my scone to come out warm (but that's not to everyone's taste & I imagine they would have warmed it if I'd asked). Staff were really accommodating.

DO NOT GO HERE!! I was appalled by the service we received here. I reserved and phoned day before to make sure it was all booked for. An afternoon tea for 2 people and vegetarian. We arrived at 4:15 no one approached us we had to wait around and ask for assistance. Seated 10 minutes later by a window that dead flies everywhere. Tables were all dirty and food and cups had been collected all day by the looks of it. Our coffe arrived in stained cups. There was a wedding going on so people and children were in and out smoking by the door. Afternoon tea arrived over an hour later and we were shocked by what was on the plate! I had specifically ordered vegetarian. There was visible ham and chicken sandwiches on the plate. It was tacken back and all they had done was removed the meat 20 minutes later. There were no pastries just old dried up cake and scones. The whole day was awful. I could not believe it. Please don't visit here it is appalling. The service we received here was disappointing. Will not be visiting here again or recommending to anyone!!!!!

Great device. Would be nice if children's tea available with adult afternoon tea, plus more home made cakes, not bought in. Great that our sandwich requests were altered for.
