The original Hakkasan restaurant, Hakkasan Hanway Place is a Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant in Soho. Designed by Christian Liaigre, the glamorous dining room combines Chinese history, tradition and architecture.

Chinese cuisine from Executive Head Chef of the Hakkasan Group, Chef Tong Chee Hwee, is found on the Hakkasan menu. Strong Chinese and Cantonese influences are weaved through the authentic dishes, with innovative signature offerings including Peking duck with caviar and pancakes, or roasted silver cod with champagne and honey. The eclectic Taste of Hakkasan menu offers a journey through flavours, for between 2 and 7 people.

A 16-metre bar at Hakkasan restaurant in London showcases inventive Asian-inspired cocktails, which can be enjoyed at Ling Ling, the chic late lounge.

A weekly lunch event, ‘Dim Sum Sunday', is staged every Sunday from 12:00 until 17:00, and features sessions from Hakkasan’s resident DJ, Pathaan. Highlights include crispy duck salad, Chinese chive dumpling with prawn and crabmeat, crispy smoked duck and pumpkin puff, and grilled Chilean sea bass. The menu includes a cocktail from Hakkasan’s award-winning list to start, followed by a half bottle of Louis Roederer Champagne per person (a Magnum between 4 guests) and concludes with a digestive cocktail to enjoy with dessert.

With carved lattice screens and swathes of smooth dark English oak, Hakkasan Hanway Place in Soho offers a unique and intimate dining experience. Tottenham Court Road Tube Station is a 3-minute walk away.

Nice but not outstanding. Left feeling still hungry after the special deal

To begin with the barman spilt my cocktail over the bar and over me. He car fully mopped up the spillage on the bar whilst ignoring me, I had to ask for paper towels to mop my trousers. he did not apologise, acknowledge the spill or offer to refill my drink. When we got in to the restaurant my husband asked the waiter to arrange for my drink to be topped up, and was told as the spillage was small ( approx. one third of the glass!), they did not feel that a top up was warranted, implying that we were freeloading... however they eventually and very grudgingly agreed to replace the drink.
The service thereafter was a mix of obsequious, passive aggressive and rude. Waiter also did that really annoying thing of constantly refilling glass. every menu selection was met with the word ' amazing' ...was that that we could read, speak or what?
Empty sugar bowl arrived with coffee, asked for sugar and again grudgingly with no apology they brought sugar
This is a shame because the food was very nice, sadly the experience was not and we will not be returning or recommending

It was ok. A bit too dark and loud but I suppose that was the style of the restaurant

My first impression of the restaurant was that it is very cool and slick. The bar is great - serves a huge selection of spirits and cocktails and the cocktails are fantastic (mine was, my dining partner's not so good). We opted for the £38 set menu, which included a choice of dim sum, a main course choice with rice and a side of greens and a dessert. Firstly, the restaurant is very dark and there are huge number of table rammed very close together. We booked for 6.30pm on a Thursday night and even then it was busy, but the time we came to leave, around 8.45pm, it was packed, too busy. The restaurant operate a very strict two hour turnaround. Dead on two hours, they removed us from our table, even though we had not finished our drinks. To be honest I was very under-impressed with the food and felt that we would actually have had a better meal if we had dined at one of the best Chinatown restaurants and when I received the bill definitely wished that I had done exactly that! The dim sum, although tasty was tiny - three very small pieces and two small spring rolls. As for the main course, I chose the sea bass. Again the portion was tiny and the greens on the side were miniscule. My dining partner opted for the beef (I think) again it was quite unimpressive and a very small portion. The menu as a whole was very restrictive and uninspiring. The dessert was ice cream covered in a hot chocolate sauce with rice crispies, which I have to say was delicious. I certainly don't think the menu was worth £38 per head and particularly when we were turfed out so hastily. When the bill arrived it came to a whopping £143: two glasses of Chardonnay alone came to £29. My partner only had two bottles of beer. We ordered a bottle of still water (which I believe they filled themselves and then charged £4.50 for), a small bowl of olives was another £4.50 and service charge 13/5%. I won't be dining there again.

Very enjoyable. Chinese is not our usual choice of cuisine, but this was lovely.

Pleasant and efficient staff, made to feel very welcomed. The ambiance of the restaurant was very comforting. The food itself was extremely taste! I could have eaten what I had from that set menu at least 3 times over! Never the less throughly enjoyed!

Dined here again on Monday evening and tried the Chinese New Year tasting menu. It was genuinely ‘out of this world’.

Thanks to all the professional yet v friendly and hospitable front of house, waiting and bar staff. You are all most wonderful.

    Thank you.
