    Ein Abend im Gustav ist immer empfehlenswert. Ausgezeichnete Speisen, bemerkenswerte Weine, sehr aufmerksamer Service (auch unter Einbeziehung der Kochbrigade) und ein schönes Ambiente. Ein Abend zum Wohlfühlen.

    Gustav was as expected: wonderful flavors meet excellent creativity with textures. Add to this flawless execution and you have an extremely memorable meal at an effortlessly cool restaurant. The fried veal was one of the most wonderful plates of food I've had in a while and that includes recent visits to two 3-Michelin star restaurants. Having said this, two things could have ruined the night. 1) The absolutely awful first amuse bouche, some tasteless and bland fried balls with sauekraut on them. I mean the food at Gustav is so sophisticated that it's hard to understand why the kitchen sends such a terrible dish first that leaves a bad taste in your mouth and sends an alarming signal for the rest of the meal, being the first piece of food you put in your mouth. Still want to serve it? Ok, do but then at least send the amazing lentil soup first so that the introduction to the kitchen aren't those awful balls. 2) The truffle being used the night we came (12th) had gone off. You need to be familiar to handling black truffle to know its "rotting stages" and ours that night had started to go off. It lacked all scent of truffle. These two things however didn't change the final perception of the meal for the whole table and we would absolutely return.
