Located in the heart of Cardiff city centre, Grey serves locally sourced food and gins in a bright, chic setting. Magnificent views from the glass-fronted restaurant look out onto Cardiff Castle.
A superb stock of local ingredients is used to craft the rich flavours on Grey’s menu. Local specialties include Cefn Mawr Farm steaks cooked and served on Himalayan salt stones, plus 'Eccentric Gins': crafted locally and drawn from water underground, then matched with tonics and glamorous martini cocktails. Grey presents an on-trend retreat for sampling Welsh flavours.
Grey offers various social and dining experiences, with dining offered from morning through to late evening. Inside, feminine touches and contemporary tones make for a film-set-style ambience.
Both the New Theatre and the expansive greenery of Bute Park are 3 minutes’ walk away.

Lovely experience, booked afternoon tea for my daughters 21st birthday. The afternoon tea was delicious, in a lovely, clean restaurant with friendly and efficient staff,

I booked this for my mother in law as a birthday present and paid £30 for 2 afternoon teas. The afternoon tea was lovely but the experience was terrible.
My mother in law took her partner and when they left the waiter chased her down the street accusing her of walking out without paying. She was very embarrassed as I had already prepaid the £30 - so the whole thing had been paid for as a present. I then emailed across my bank statement to show I had paid for it, the form that I filled in to pay for it and the confirmation. The waiter still didn't believe her as it was paid in my name on her behalf. I was told that she did not need a voucher as proof and that it would be on the system. They said they could post me a voucher but I said no as it would not arrive in time for her birthday by post. I think they need to realise that everything is done online these days as I couldn't even pay over the phone or online! I had to scan and email a hand written form! I then went there after I had a call off the manager who offered us a tea and coffee and cold drinks in the lobby - I ordered an orange juice and my partner ordered a tea - we were brought glasses of water instead. Which I thought was terrible service. The manager offered my mother in law afternoon tea as an apology so she now has to ring him to organise this. Overall experience was terrible.

The food was lovely and the service was very attentive. The only thing I was disappointed by was the 25% off offer at time of booking wasn't honoured and staff seemed to unaware of it. Still a lovely experience and a great birthday present

We had booked the afternoon tea option as a birthday treat and it was faultless. The service we received was excellent and the staff we were in contact with couldn't do enough for us. They were friendly, approachable and professional, as well as all seeming to have great interpersonal and team work skills. We weren't left waiting for any length of time, were given drink options that came quickly (tea with timers) before being followed with our afternoon tea. This consisted of a selection of sandwiches and a variety of cakes that were just lovely! We had a fantastic time and cannot wait to book to go there again. With the use of social media, I put some photographs of us enjoying our time, where a number of our friends asked where we were. Recommendations have been given to as many people we know! Thank you very much!

I booked the Afternoon Tea for 4 people at Grey in the Hilton Hotel in Cardiff as a treat. We enjoyed our treat. There was a good range with plenty of sandwiches as well as sweet treats. We were offered a box so that we could take home the cakes we couldn't manage!

Very busy, therefore really noisy, hard to relax.
Some of the sandwiches were a little stale.
Staff were great.
Have had afternoon tea before and had a lovely time but would be reluctant to book again
