Excellent professional service in a nice, relaxed environment. The food is outstanding and is genuinely the best Indian cuisine I have had in years

The Grand Trunk Road menu features expertly crafted Indian recipes made using traditional cooking methods. Start off with light bites like the crab cake with lemongrass, garlic and tomato chutney, before moving on to hearty mains from the tandoor oven, including boneless rabbit with long peppers and kebab chini. Other gourmet house specialities feature treats like slow-cooked lamb shanks, and there is also an extensive vegetarian menu too.

Colourful signature cocktails are a popular feature at Grand Trunk Road in South Woodford, as well as traditional lassi mixes. For pudding, enjoy Indian desserts such as almond rice pudding, and tandoor-grilled pineapple.

The food was delicious and cooked in the traditional way, with the balance of spices just right for almost all palates. Very acceptable decor and service was excellent too. The chef came out to see us which is a rarity. Much appreciated and highly recommended.

Excellent service and we were made to feel very welcome. Great food: a variety of lightly spiced curries and rice.

Not your typical Indian restaurant. Loved the flavours, variety of food and the service.

    Amazing restaurant.

The whole experience from being greeted at the door, eating and being wished farewell, was exceptional.

Yes it was more expensive than your bog standard curry, but there was nothing standard about this experience.

    Particularly recommend the rabbit tikka.

Polite attentive staff were the icing on the cake.

    Thanks GTR

First time dining here. Overall very impressed, welcoming staff, excellent service and very good food - plenty of it and very tasty.
We visited after a trip to the local cinema and the restaurant is in easy walking distance. Will definitely visit again!

Food really nice and different. Was a Saturday night but we were very rushed and table next to us had a seat put at the end which meant woman’s long hair was too close to our food for comfort

Really enjoyed our evening here - not your traditional Indian which was great as some new dishes to try. I had the lamb biryani which comes with a pie case and was delicious and my husband had the lamb shanks which were melt in the mouth - will definitely be coming back

My first time and I really enjoyed it - great dishes good spicing a massive step up from your local Indian- cracking wine list ( I know wine and curry doesn’t normally go) and good attentive service - what more can you ask for ?
