Excellent food with some very interesting twists. Service was excellent and the lunch menu was very good value.

Starters were delicious, mains and wine, and the 2 course deal was worth the money

A pleasant surprise in the Manchester world of Student food and Emperors new clothes . Well cooked and great flavours. I might even give up chips for the fried slivers of Cauli. Only one thing , warm them plates a fraction more.

    Lovely ambiance
Friendly staff but short staffed - waited 2 courses for a drink to come after ordering
    Lovely interesting menu
Very small portion of gnocchi needed something crisp or brittle as it was quenelle of ricotta with soft tomato
    Lovely cooked steaks
    Excellent peppercorn
Need more variety choice of sides
Portions on very small size compared to steaks
Understand menu and concept but to be hungry after 2 course was disappointing- can still be a la carte but slightly more on plate
( I know exactly the comments that will create in kitchen!). But we did have to sportsmen with us
Presentation was the best I've seen in Manchester - better than M H and Midland and very well thought out
    Beautiful ingredients
And the greatest consome starter ever
But too small portions inc tartare

Our second visit to Grafene. Lovely staff. Good cocktails and excellent starters. Unfortunately this time the main course had to be sent back. The pork was tough and the flavours just didn't work together. This was handled very well by the waiters and the restaurant manager. However when you end up eating separately and paying top end prices it does make you wonder whether to risk it again.

Second visit, fantastic food, again, this time from the al a carte menu (previously had the tasting menu). Standard of cooking was excellent, beautifully presented plates of food for each course.
