Great location overlooking the Thames, the bar has a wow factor and the service was very good.
The meal was well presented and tasty! would recommend this to friends and tourists.

Winner of 2 AA Rosettes, Gillray’s Steakhouse and Bar at the London Marriott Hotel County Hall showcases classic English dishes and mouth-watering 35-day aged steaks from O’Sheas Butchers. Cutting-edge cocktails (featuring a stock of over 120 different gins) offer the latest in mixology trends, while bespoke furniture turns the South Bank restaurant into a contemporary haven. Dedicated to James Gillray, with caricatures and his artwork on display, Gillray's in London boasts stunning views of Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye.

The speciality at Gillray’s restaurant is undoubtedly steak. A huge selection of cuts is offered both on and off the bone, with an assortment of sauces to include red wine and bone marrow, or tarragon butter. For fish lovers, south coast lemon sole is served with creamy parsley butter. Home-cured pastrami sandwich is another favourite, served in a brioche bun. Sides and extras include truffle and Old Winchester chips, Heritage carrots in Fennel honey, creamed spinach, or the delicious Gillray’s house summer salad.

On the desserts side, Gillray’s award-winning cheese table features the finest artisan cheeses sourced from across England. Finish with the flourless chocolate cake, seasonal meringue pie, or the signature traditional sherry trifle.

Waterloo Train Station is a 7-minute walk from Gillray’s Steakhouse and Bar on the South Bank. Gillray's can be accessed via the main entrance to the London Marriott Hotel on Westminster Bridge Road. Alternatively, enter via the South Bank (Queen's Walk), above Shrek's Adventure. Valet parking is also available on site.

1 had lunch here with my husband and daughter in law. Their meals were fine.I ordered the sirloin steak but it was fatty and had gristle.
The staff offered to cook another steak but my dining partners had finished. The manager came to apologise and agreed that the steak was indeed not up to standard.
I have been to this restaurant before and was very happy. I am sad that a steak bar could not serve up a decent steak.

Very good food in beautiful surroundings, and with glorious view over the River Thames.

The vegetarian option was quite good, but my husband thought his steak was tasteless & left it

Quite disappointed in a slow & not attentive service (the table server was constantly doing something "else" at the bar, always had to wave, clap or call someone else), cold steak ordered medium rare but cooked medium well, shrimps added to the stake which are actually a side dish not at all an "on top" ingredient as presented, knife on stake brought on request only, I hardly can understand how this restaurant has any star as service is below average while the food was not bad but for sure not over the top.

Chose the pre-theatre menu. Good service and value. Helpful staff.

The octopus and pudding were excellent, the rib eye steak was tough, lacking in flavour and the wine sauce tasted of inferior gravy. The atmosphere was buzzy although as we waited nearly an hour before our first course, emptied very quickly. The staff were though very helpful and friendly and we appreciated the birthday cake. The view of theThames from our table was great. Thank you

Lovely location - it was great to walk through the beautiful hotel hallway to the restaurant. It was a great space - looking out over the Thames (although thousands of plastic bags of something waiting to be used on the veranda slightly marred the view.) The service was friendly and not stuffy and the food was good and flavourful, although not mind-blowing. The octopus starter was the standout - and the chocolate & mandarin dessert looked beautiful. A good, solid traditional restaurant - the kind of place you'd bring your parents.

Really enjoyed the 3-course and bubbles deal for £30 although 2 of our party had a battle on their hands to get their steaks well done. Chef ultimately obliged but I don't think he was happy about it! Lovely service and great setting. 2nd visit and would go back

Pre theatre dining trip with tremendous service and a beautiful restaurant hidden from the strip. The apple mash, pork steak and spinach was lovely and highly recommended.
