A lovely relaxing lunch from the Market Menu. Started with a very indulgent Gin/Champagne cocktail. After entertaining over Xmas it was nice to be waited on with a lovely lunch in a relaxing atmosphere and not being rushed at all

Winner of 2 AA Rosettes, Gillray’s Steakhouse and Bar at the London Marriott Hotel County Hall showcases classic English dishes and mouth-watering 35-day aged steaks from O’Sheas Butchers. Cutting-edge cocktails (featuring a stock of over 120 different gins) offer the latest in mixology trends, while bespoke furniture turns the South Bank restaurant into a contemporary haven. Dedicated to James Gillray, with caricatures and his artwork on display, Gillray's in London boasts stunning views of Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye.

The speciality at Gillray’s restaurant is undoubtedly steak. A huge selection of cuts is offered both on and off the bone, with an assortment of sauces to include red wine and bone marrow, or tarragon butter. For fish lovers, south coast lemon sole is served with creamy parsley butter. Home-cured pastrami sandwich is another favourite, served in a brioche bun. Sides and extras include truffle and Old Winchester chips, Heritage carrots in Fennel honey, creamed spinach, or the delicious Gillray’s house summer salad.

On the desserts side, Gillray’s award-winning cheese table features the finest artisan cheeses sourced from across England. Finish with the flourless chocolate cake, seasonal meringue pie, or the signature traditional sherry trifle.

Waterloo Train Station is a 7-minute walk from Gillray’s Steakhouse and Bar on the South Bank. Gillray's can be accessed via the main entrance to the London Marriott Hotel on Westminster Bridge Road. Alternatively, enter via the South Bank (Queen's Walk), above Shrek's Adventure. Valet parking is also available on site.

We had a table right at back of Restaurant so felt a bit pushed out the way even though the restaurant was not very busy at all, would have been nice to get a table with a nicer view. The meal was nice although one of the party asked for Steak to be well done and it was cremated within an inch of it's life....desert was really nice. Good Value for Money overall.

Booked this restaurant as it was near theatre. Not sure how it would be. We had the set menu. Rib eye steak on the menu was delicious and that’s coming from VERY picky steak eaters, done perfectly med/ rare. The staff were a delight, efficient, helpful and fun. It really was a lovely evening.

Great spot and lovely views - felt very Christmassy. Good food - small portions and the sides and wine are pricey on top of the set meal cost but overall the experience was really nice and our waitress was lovely.

We were a team of 10 for our Christmas meal. Dined on the £29.50 set menu, superb! Everyone loved their food. Presented beautifully. Dishes including Ham hock, roast chicken which was apparently very succulent. Steak was lovely and soft even when well done. The desserts were epic, chocolate mousse looked like a work of art, the sticky toffee pudding, amazing! Staff lovely, no complaints. Made it one of the best Christmas meals we've had! Thank you. Will definitely be returning! With views directly over the Thames, you can't ask for more!

Booked this deal to top off a day shopping in London. I thought we would be sat out of the way somewhere and given paltry measures. But no. Excellent reception when we walked in. A nice table looking across the Thames and given a rather nice Coctail.
We ordered from the Market menu and when the food arrived I was pleasantly surprised with the portion size and quality. A great meal in a fabulous setting.
